iRobot Roomba 4210 Bagless Robotic Vacuum

I have had my roomba for over a year and love it. Several friends bought them and after a few months had problems. After researching the problem I found they all were unplugging the roomba and leaving the battery in. LEAVE THE ROOMBA PLUGGED INTO THE CHARGER AT ALL TIMES OR REMOVE THE BATTERY WHEN NOT CONNECTED TO THE CHARGER. This simple tip will help keep your roomba running. It does not like to have the battery in the machine when not plugged into to the charger.

Roomba is the best housecleaning tool invented in my 54 years. Vaccuming daily changed my life. It is unbelievable how much dirt, hair, dust etc is deposited on floors everyday and I live alone!

Buy a roomba you will delighted.

This is the second generation of Roombas I have. The first generation I purchased when they came out about 3-4 years ago and still works! The battery started to go weak, so I decided to buy a whole new Roomba, but I did not have to, the new generation and the old generation do the same thing: CLEAN!

These great little machines help you get the floor cleaning started. They do the majority of the work and then you just do the edged and what ever they could have missed (which typically is very little.) You should get one, they are fun to watch, but they are great at cleaning.

I LOVE IT,IT DOES A WONDERFUL JOB.I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED ONE, SINCE I HAVE BACK PROBLEMS.I HAVE A DOG THAT SHEDS YEAR ROUND AND I WAS AMAZED THAT IT REALLY CLEANED UP THE DOG HAIR NICELY.I LIKE THAT I JUST PUSH A BUTTON AND IT DOES ITS THING THEN RETURNS BACK TO THE DOCKING STATION.WHEN IT DISCOVERS DIRT IT WILL GO AROUND AND AROUND UNTIL THE DIRT IS CLEANED UP.I WOULD SAY TO ALL THAT HAS BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING ONE IT TRULY DOES WORK THE WAY IT SAYS IT DOES.MY DAUGHTER BOUGHT ONE TOO AND LOVES IT.

I bought this little robot when I had to go on bed rest. I push a button after breakfast and this little guy picks up after a large dog, a cat, two toddlers, and two adults. I haven't had to sweep in over a month!!!

I have only had it for a day and it is wonderful! I let it loose in the living room and even after I had swept the stuff it picked up was unbelievable. I would recommend this machine to anyone that likes tech stuff and wants to save some time.

Works great on my wood laminate floors for fuzz, dust & dog hair. I especailly like to use it in rooms like the bedroom where I can just shut the door and let it do its thing without having to set up the 'virtual wall' units to rein it in. You do need to pick up electrical cords, etc. and doesn't get over scatter rugs very well. But on floors without rugs or cords, it works just fine & is very convenient. I use it regularly.

I am not as excited as i thought i would be about the Roomba. You have to make sure that nere are no cords, rugs etc. in the way, and you have to follow it around to make sure that it does not get hung up under the furniture. It does not pick up as good as a vacuum.
I am reselling mine on ebay. It is just as easy to grab the vacuum out of the closet and vacuum the rugs, and floor, and it picks up better too.

Having been an owner of one of these beasts for a year or so now, I like having them around. The Roomba Discovery is a good, basic, automatic vacuum cleaner, very capable of cleaning up dust and dirt from your floors. Doesn't do a great job with rugs or carpets, but on bare floors it rocks! Entertaining to watch, but it is noisy (ever hear a quiet vacuum cleaner?). In any case, I think these units are worthwhile, more convenient than having to push a regular vac around.

We have 6 humans, 3 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny, rat, and a gerbil in our home. (Not to mention the outside pets that we care for and track in their hair and dirt) Needless to say we have lots of hair and dirt that comes into our home. Being the mother of 5, I find cleaning to be endless! Our Roombas have saved me from endless sweeping of our tile and other hard floors and vacuuming of our carpets. Besides emptying the dirt bin and filter area after each cycle run they do need to be cleaned out occasionally but this is a minimal job that even the kids can do! We each have our own Roomba that we have named and use daily and iRobot is AWESOME with customer service and answering ANY questions about their products. I say Roombas are a must have for any busy family and they are very amusing too! My kids love using the remotes to direct their Roomba to dirty areas, it is a fun game that is worthwhile too!

I've had my Roomba for a few weeks now. It works great in smaller rooms, like bedrooms. I close the door and turn it loose for a couple of hours and I'm very happy with the job it does. I don't think it works quite as well in a larger area.

This is my second one! I like the idea of not having to watch it. It empties easy and it is great to go under my bed.

The item was barnd new as explained in the seller's description. Even shipped in the original box. Shipping occurred in a timely manner. Smooth transaction.

works great. it actually picks up the dirt. a little loud and i thought the battery would last longer. the battery only lasts about 20 minutes on max clean. maybe i'm doing something wrong. overall, i love it!

Really a great novelty, when My first Roomba arrived my 2 cats followed it around for the 15 min. that it ran after a full 24 Hr charge, When #2 arrived they were still fasinated with the movement, it was stuck in reverse and backed up continuously trying to climb cabinets and walls, #3 came and didn't move at all, however there is a rainbow, #4 was the charm; it has fasinated my cats for at least 18 months, it cleans my art studio indoor/outdoor carpet at least every 3 days and is a real workhorse, occasionally it will get caught under the cabinet over hang, but it stops and when I can break off I just restart it. The expense of returning to factory, gets a bit much. I wasn't asked to return #3. The company reps were very curteous and helpfulwith online complaints. This little guy is great; I have all tile floors up stairs and three dogs and one cat. I use my roomba between cleaning times and my house feels so clean.
I have used my up right vacuum on the floors thinking I did a good job, and started my little roomba up afterwards and he still picks up hair and dirt. I have taken him down stairs and used him on the carpet and he did a fine job, Not as great as the up right, he don't leave the fancy marks you can get when you vacuum yourself out of a room, but he will vacuum the carpet. I have frieze carpet. I am happy with my roomba.

First I married a woman and she almost nagged me to death. Then I married a man and all he did was be lazy and complain. Now I am married to my Romantic Roomba and life is beautiful again.

Roomba cares about keeping my enviornment clean without a beep of a complaint. Roomba does not need constant attention and actually entertains me at the same time and my kids the laboradors. I feel like we work as a team finally. I can be cleaning the dishes and roomba is working on the whole house.

If you are in need of a faithful mate get a roomba and live happily every after.

This is my first Roomba and I like it.It does a very good job.The only problem is the noise it makes.I now set it to clean and leave the house and come back to clean floors.

I bought my Roomba Discovery in March 2007, after spending nearly a year researching the company, and the product, and sampling the conversations held in the very active Roomba chat rooms. Though hoping to be impressed, I had a healthy amount of cynicism when I finally made my purchase.

I highly recommend you read the manual cover-to-cover before you do anything with the vacuum. From my experience, some of the issues related to premature battery problems stem from the fact that eager users don't take time to do the 16-hour initial battery charge; and many people don't realize that the Roomba must be left on its charging base while the battery is installed.

It's quite simple to understand when you realize that the Roomba is always monitoring the airwaves for a command from its remote control. And since the Discovery can also be scheduled, there is a program constantly running and trying to determine whether it's time to do the vacuuming.

I have a few pets that shed lots of hair. For this, iRobot recommends you buy the "Pet Upgrade" kit, which consists of a stiffer main brush, and convenient brush cleaning device (among other items). To keep the Roomba working at peak performance, you should get into the habit of cleaning the brushes after every (or every second) vacuuming cycle.

Even though a thorough cleaning of the Roomba might take as much time as it would to push your vacuum around the house, being able to perform this cleaning from the sitting position makes it more acceptable.

With built in sensors and a pretty decent "escape" logic that allows Roomba to mostly avoid trouble spots, and then get itself out of the spots it occasionally finds itself in, Roomba runs mostly trouble-free. However, the user manual warns people not to leave things around that a normal vacuum would have trouble with... things like tangles of speaker wire, laces on shoes, and fringes on carpets. I find that if I remove small toys and light (i.e. not heavy) throw rugs from the floor, Roomba can handle most everything else.

Roomba is particularly good at getting under furniture, and it is fun to watch Roomba get under a dining room table and manoeuvre through the maze of chair legs.

I am always amazed at the amount of dirt Roomba picks up - considering I run it every second day. For those who won't mind giving the Roomba freequent clean-outs, you won't be disappointed with its performance.

I've already recommended it to friends and have purchased a second one for my mother-in-law, who is a partially disabled senior.

First let me say that I love Ebay! But, am very dissatisfied with the IRobot company. I purchased the Roomba just after the New Year. After about the 6th use my machine sounded and acted differently. It no longer picked up the dirt and dog hair. So I contacted the company and they emailed me some trouble-shooting tips. I got to the 2 tip and it said if your brushes don't move to contact customer service. So I contacted them back and come to find out even though I registered the brand new product in my name the company does not cover warranties for products not purchased from and authorized dealer and sellers on ebay are not authorized to sell with a warranty. At least if you purchase on ebay lie and register the product as Gift!! Lesson learned here. Glad that I got a good price through ebay and that I didn't pay full price for a piece of JUNK!!

In my tile-floored apartment where I live with 2 dogs, iRobot is a life saver. But the 550 or 560 models are MUCH better life savers than the 4000 series since they automatically return to their charging base instead of running out of juice under the bed or in some other inacessible location.

I love this vacuum. It works the best on hard surfaces. Don't expect it to run for the two hours that it claims in the manual. I am glad I made this purchase.
