You are getting the same package with Mutation as you did with Infection. You are getting a great story and a pretty good fighting system. Not too much has changed this time around. With the addition of a new area and more friends to chose from this is definatly a good sequal. With Infection lasting around 20 hours Mutation clocks the same amount of time. If you are a fan of the first game you will definatly not be disapointed by the 2nd installment of the game.
This sequel to .hack Infection picks up where the first game left off. The game nicely provides you with all the mail messages, board posts and other content from the first game, so you can at least try to catch up a bit with the story. It provides you with a character up to the challenge of this next level. The graphics, gameplay, user experience and interface, are exactly the same as the first game.
If you didn't like the first game you probably won't like this one either.
I love this game for the same reasons I loved the first installment: excelent and gripping story, unique game concept, and difficult-yet-beatable gameplay. I had always felt incomplete only having played the first quarter of this series, so jumping back into the fray with this game was definately a worthwhile endeavour. I would implore that every serious gamer play this series.
This game is truly awesome, its fun, fairly simple, and mighty hard to put down. I highly recommend it to any RPG fan. Its got a great story that You dont have to be a fan of the anime series to understand. Some of the cool features of the game include the fact that you can take your cleared data of .Hack//Infection and begin .Hack//mutation with your already built-up characters, items, weapons, etc., you can trade with your party members as well as other NPCs, new characters, events and quests and the grunty race which I havent tried yet so I cant say much about it...Anyway its an awesome continuation of the series and I recommend it to any fan of the anime or any RPG fan just looking for a good game to play, its for you!!! :-)
everything that the seller displayed was right on the mark. game disks in great condition, and booklet too. the case has couple of scratches, but that is to be expected. besides all that a A+ product.
Very fast shiping and the product is like brand new, l'm impressed and very happy would definitly buy again. I enjoy dealing with them :) Would defintly order from them again.
I paid immediately and received item. I then wrote a positive feedback for seller, however, seller didn't write me a feedback and has apparently just blew me off. Now, sellers on my "NO BUY" list and I'll never buy from seller again.
If you have played the version volume, you have played the second, the third, and even the fourth.
This is a sad realization that I figured out after playing the third installment of this game.
The elements are all exactly the same, the bonuses the same, even the story lacks any huge plot twists. Although the game is still fun and it is neat being able to import your character from PART 1, this game still falls terribly short.
In this game and the next even you are able to view videos ( basic gameplay movies ) from the previous games. If you look closely they are exactly the same thing, and you can still go to all the old dungeons. This means very simply that ALL 4 of these games could have been combined into one SEEMINGLY amazing game. However in order to make mass profit they decided to split the game into 4 and sell them for super high prices. This is a sad fact and it really ruins the series in my opinion.
If you enjoy the first one, then do that, enjoy it, but Don't waste your money on this Part or the next 2, because ultimately you would be doing exactly that ... wasting your cash money.
Great game, the plot thickens from the first game. I thought this one ended too quick, it left me begging for more. Lots of new characters were introduced too. It keeps it interesting. If you like rpgs, then you should like this. If your tired of the final fantasy battle system, then this is the game series for you. No more waiting til your "hypered" or your limit break is up. Its a solid system and takes a bit of getting used to at first, but before long, you'll get the hang of it.
While .hack// is quite a phenomenon, a review of the enjoyment of this game has nothing to do with the anime series (although fans of the series can find little easter eggs in the game series). The strengths of .hack//mutation are the same as the first in the series (.hack//infection): it has a great plot line, interesting new skill system, easy to use interface, and you can continue on your character into the next of the series. This is as expected, there were no changes to the game design. Despite this, I found this game to be more exciting and fun to play than the first in the series. The plot in mutation thickens and becomes more interesting and fulfilling.
Like the previous game, if I were to say this game has a weakness, it would be that it is quite a bit shorter than many comparable games. With completion of the story line (in this installment), the extras, and just having a little fun, I completed the game in about 40 hours.
Overall, the .hack//mutation is a must have if you wish to play the series. I don't think that the series would have been as much fun if I did not play all of the installments. Having finished the first three game, .hack//mutation is my favorite of the series so far.
My friend bought infection and didn't play it because she said it was boring, so I decided to play to see what she was talking about...And she was so wrong. It's been awhile since I've had so much fun playing a video game. After beating infection I went out and boought Mutation, Outbreak and Quarantine. Mutation was even better. Though I'll admit Outbreak is a bit harder, monster wise. But it only makes the game series even better.
Another amazing installment of the .hack// series. I loved the game myself because of it's ecapturing story and gameplay. The battles are more of the same thing as the first game making them somewhat dull, but the introduction of new skills, weapons, and armor keep things interesting. Overall I give the game a 4 out of five.
