What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I love this truck! It rides very smoothly, even with the all terrain tires. Ford's off road package makes it look very sharp and sporty (ranchero shocks rock). This truck feels like it could pull a house down, and it has a lot of power off the line. I am a large man, 6'4/300lbs and there is plenty of room to spare. The rear seats have more leg room than most 4-door cars. I loaded up three other people, and everyone enjoyed the ride. This truck is loaded with options, and I would say its more luxurious than my 02 caddilac.
I had been previoulsy told that the turning radius wasnt great for the 03 4x4, but I have no problems with it at all. I went to the mall just to make sure I could still park in the tight spaces towards the front...not that I will use those spaces, but I just had to check. I had no problems parking and getting around the park lot and deck.
I will be using this truck as my daily driver, 30-40 minute commute to work. I will only be hauling my tools and and such. I have a small boat I might haul to the coast when I get time. I will be driving my family around town during the weekends, and maybe some during the week if I can tear my wife away from her 06 honda odyssey.

2003 Ford F-250: Ford F250 TurboDiesel

I have a 2003 and a 2004 F250 Power Stroke Diesel, 6.0 L V-8 TurboDiesel. Both have been trouble free, reliable, well made, powerful, smooth power delivery and tons of towing ability. Both tow fifth wheel trailers. The '03 has 63,000 miles...the '04 has 53,000 miles. Other than replacing the batteries. doing all of the fluid changed and filter changes...no other problems encountered. These trucks are both crew cabs, with 4 full sized doors, and seating for 6 adults. The rear seats are roomy and leg room enough for anyone, with incredible head room.

These are the first diesels I've ever owned, and it is remarkable the better fuel mileage compared to towing and non-towing driving. The diesels get at least 20% better mileage, but at the same time clearly outperform the gasoline engined trucks. Hills and mountain roads are not even an issue, with power delivery smooth and plentiful. Interior noise is muted, and the deisel goes about the serious business of towing!

Maintenance is a bit more of a chore than gasoling engines, only because the quantity of oil and transmission fluids are more than the gas engines. It's easy to perform maintenance, however.

There were reports of the early 6.0 Diesel engines being problematic in the introduction year of 2003, but I believe this was overblown by the press and some disgruntled owners, as the actual numbers of engine failures were very minimal, and Ford bought those early trucks back from the owners, replacing them with brand new trucks. Neither of my trucks ever had any issues, and the Ford dealer "reflashed" the engine management computers with updated programs.

All in all, when I upgrade to new trucks, they will be the newest Ford Diesels!

I own 2 of these 6 liter problem childs, 1 @107K just blew oil into the water reserve tank caused by a faulty oil cooler $2,500.00 repair.
The other has had numerous injector repairs @71K, 82K and 87K covered by warranty, but what will it cost me in the future.
Is there any hope Ford will make this right?

2003 Ford F-250: out of state purchase

It was for my hubby who is deployed this is his gift to himself he very much deserved it. I did not like the aftermath of the sale with handling title/registration etc. The state of florida does not hand off title work to the appropriate office the customer has to do it themselves so this has been a headache for me since I did not understand that nor did the salesman explain this to me i felt like i was left on my own with trying to figure this out. Sale was effortless would probably rethink next ebay car purchase.

I am completely satisfied with the truck I purchased. It was exactly as described and at a great price.
I have looked on Ebay Motors for some time for vehicles and when I was serious about buying a truck I began to search for the perfect truck for me and I found exactly what I was looking for.
There is no doubt that I will buy another vehicle from Ebay Motors.

Ford changed to this new engine for 2003 and I bought one of the first ones out. Big mistake. I spent 9 days in the shop 900 miles from home with only 4800 miles on the truck. After that, about every 2 weeks it had to spend time in the shop all associated with this new engine. The truck itself, I loved it if they just could have fixed the injector and turbo problems.

2003 Ford F-250: 2003 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel

We purchased our F-250 Superduty Lariat 4x4 Crew Cab specifically to tow a travel trailer. Other than towing the trailer it is rarely driven. We specifically wanted the older 7.3 Powerstroke diesel as the newer 6.0 Powerstroke has had lots of reliability problems. Rumor has it Ford has hade to buy back thousands of 6.0 equipped trucks under the lemon law. Mid year 2003 is when the changeover was made from 7.3 to 6.0.
The one thing We did not know at the time was the short bed's fuel tank is smaller that on the long bed, 29 gallons versus 39. The 29 gallon tank is a bit small when towing a trailer and getting 12-13 MPG, and obviously the short bed box holds less stuff, in retrospect I wished I had bought a longbed. Superduty trucks are great traveling vehicles, are quiet and comfortable for driving long distances, very limo like inside with lots of room and great visibility. These things are as powerful as a locomotive. We crested the 10,000 foot Lizard Head Pass in Colorado at 65 MPH, trailer in tow, without breaking a sweat. Even though our truck has the "FX-4 Off Road" package, it does poorly off road. The original Firestone Steeltex tires readily dig into the ground and don't provide much traction. There is not much ground clearance either. I'm sure a lift kit and larger wheels & tires would greatly improve off road performance. Another minor irritant are the upgraded chrome tube style running boards. When driving in mud the front tires throw mud up and on top of the running boards where you will step in it and track mud into the truck when you get in and out. Build quality is about average for contemporary American built vehicles with lots of cheap low quality plastic parts that won't age well. The windshield glass is thin and has already cracked.

UPDATE- Feb 2008: Replaced the original Firestone tires with Michelin LTX M/S's, which made a noticable improvement in smoothness, quietness, and tracking down the road. The truck now has 60,000 miles on it and the only problem so far has been a crank position sensor replaced under warranty. Averaging 13 MPG towing, 17 MPG Not towing.
