What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I've been looking for a 1969 Camaro that would be more than just a daily driver yet not a show car. I'm in a car club and already have restored a 1958 Chev pick-up so I know a little about what makes a decent quality car.

The seller advertised the features of the car but provided little information on the condition or functionality of the accessories. He said be "was all over the car" before he purchased it. He also stated it was a good driver and had newer paint. He did state the dash board padding needed replacement. I would have preferred to have the car inspected by a third party but only hours remained on the auction so I submitted a bid based on the telecons with the seller.

When the car arrived we had trouble starting it. I took several days of trouble shooting to figure out that a least five vacuum lines affecting the engine had been cut or disconnected. Also the carburator was fouled and required cleaning. I also discovered the seat belts were missing, as was the horns. The doors that close over the headlights did not operate properly - they would open but not close. The alternator and temperature warning lights are inoperative. The trunk collected water when I washed the car as the rear tail lights had been re-installed without gaskets.

I asked the seller about the missing seat belts and he stated that a car of that age in Michigan did not require them. He said he would try to find some used ones and send them to me. I felt they should have been added before the sale as it is factory equipment and also a safety issue. It will cost around $250 to replace the seat belts.

Prior to shipment of the car from Michigan to Arizona I asked the seller to insure that all the fluid levels were topped off I case I decided to drive it to my house (about 80 miles from Phoenix where the car could have been dropped off.) I decided to pay extra to have it delivered to my house and a good thing I did. The power steering unit was bone dry of fluid. Also the motor oil was pitch black indicating it was overdue for a change.

I gave the seller a positive rating based on my first impression of the car after delivery. If I had it to do over I would give him a "Neutral" rating as he was not as straight forward with the condition of the car as he should have been. My regret is I did not have a third-party inspection. That report would have probably kept me from bidding. The car will take hundreds of dollars and quite a bit of time to bring it to a "driver's plus" condition.

The old adage: Buyer Beware is true in this case.

I like the fact that you can go straight to the year model in lieu of searching thru all items when your really only looking for a certain year model.

well I would like to see the car that I bough, but it still is where I bough it and I have no idea when it will get here. I made the mistake of using the DAS shipping company that was suggested by ebay and they never shipped the car they held it for 21 days then said that it should be shipped in covered transport. But I guess that I was lucky because they only charged me 150 dollars to release it to another company, and I hope that the car gets here in a few days. No I will never guy another car on E-Bay.

I have owned several 1969 Camaros and have been reviewing EBay for several years now in hope of finding my "Dream Car". I have never bought a vehicle on EBay so I have 0 feedback. I have bid on cars in the past on EBay but generally have not had a good experience. I have used the "Ask seller a question" on EBay and have not generally gotten a response from the Seller. When I do not get a response, this leads me to believe that everything is not right for this listing so I either do not put a bid in or if I have bid, stop bidding. I am extremely knowledgeable about 1969 Camaros and their values and am willing to pay above market for my Dream Car for one that meets my needs but am fairly concerned with all of the fake or altered cars listed on EBay.

This forum is certainly Buyer Beware!

Was told there was no leaks at all! Every place a car could leak was leaking. Oil dipstick, linkage on Transmision, Rear Transmission Seal, Rear Engine Seal, Rear end gasket and valve cover gaskets. Called him about the problems and he made no effort to help with cost for his dishonesty. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!

The first point is: whenever you are considering the purchase of a big ticket item, particularly a car sight unseen---you are taking a risk. Regardless of what a seller tells you. People have varying degrees of what they may consider good to excellent condition!

Now, as far as my purchase was concerned, I have been around and owned many of this vintage car for over 20 years and know quite a bit about them. I understood the risks of purchasing the car without inspecting it. So, I accepted that risk. Bottom line, I wanted it.

I like the way the buyer was up front about his knowledge of the car, and that he was not trying to mis-represent the condition. The car needed some work and that's what I do.

However, if you only made you decision based on impulse, you would have probably been disappointed with the car. A number of items that I was not aware of are also in need of attention that were not disclosed; but nothing big to me as I can fix them---others may not be able to and would have to spend a couple thousand dollars to have a mechanic fix.

Overall, I am happy with the car and the eBay experience!

Points to consider for any car purchase:
1. If you think you are interested, EARLY in the auction, get an inspection if possible. There are many resources that do just this.
2. Transportation: Hire a reputable, insured transporter.
3. Make sure you have auto insurance in place!!! Before the car is picked up!Even if just comprehensive.
4. Make sure you have you funds lined up.

Good hunting!!

1969 Chevrolet Camaro: Misrepresentation

I recently purchased a 1969 Camaro from Mark Graham out of Iowa. I asked Mark several questions regarding the rust on the vehicle. I specifically asked regarding rust being on the shock towers, floor pans, dash and roof. He said that it needed a patch in the drivers front. He replied regarding the dash, roof, shock towers, and the rest of the floor being in good shape and not needing any work. I also asked whether the car needed full quarters or quarter skins. He replied that the Camaro needed only quarter skins. When I received the vehicle, I was in great disappointment, the car need full quarters due to rust inside the door area, the shock towers were soft indicating rust, the dash had rust hole and part of the dash was cut, the rear seat area had a hole in it and the roof was very rough. I was so upset that it took me a few weeks before contacting him to confront him. I wanted to be able to communicate with him without anger. After confronting him, I felt like there should have a partial refund made due to misrepresentation. He said that he wouldn't be able to refund anything at the moment because of his health condition. I hadn't heard from him in a week or so, so I decided to call him. He did not answer so I left a message. A fews days later I received an email from him indicating that he was not going to refund any money. Had he represented the vehicle, I could have made a sound decision. This guy is a very bad ebayer and should be banned from ebay indefinitely.

I bid on this car because I had a similar one in the past. These are becoming very hard to find this model in decent shape due to manufactures original poor rust prevention. The pictures on ebay were deceptive. The holes noted in the floor of the car were downplayed. It needs an entire new floor pan. It is not at all safe to drive. A crash in this car in this condition would be fatal. It can be repaired with a new panel installed. I caught the seller in numberous lies during the transaction. Never the less I wanted the car and since I am a body repair technician I accepted the car because much of the damage was hidden by the factory carpet and I wasn't aware of how extensive the damage was on the floor. I still would have wanted the car but would not have bid no were near the amount I paid for this item. I hope the sellers of this car would be more honest in the future so that buyers can bid accordingly to the vehicle that is represented to them. I didn't leave bad feedback on this item because this leaves ebay members to ruin my feedback which I worked hard to establish over the passed five years.

Too much engine noise and fumes coming into pass. compartment.Hard to hear pipes or a good radio system the latter w/o headphones & Calif. cops don't dig phones, not even buds.Really wide rear tires=ticket time.Poor line of site for driver either left or right shoulder.Driver is the last to know status of win/loss blinded by the designer's nose up front there.

I asked numerous questions to the seller before submitting a bid. The seller described the vehicle exactly as recieved. When I received the car it was better then I had expected, especially since I was buying pretty much by faith that the seller was totally honest. Turned out he was! This was a stressfull but turned out to be a very rewarding experience. Great Car!! Hopefully there are more honest people out there like him.
