What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

The seller (Matt Pons) should be ashamed of himself for even listing the 1968 Mustang convertible I bought from him on ebay. I don't know what my legal actions are at this point, or what actions ebay can take on my behalf, but I know why he wanted cash or a cashiers check up front before he released the car. I should have used pay pal or a credit card, then I would have had some kind of recourse.
My fault for not doing a personal inspection of the car, but people should not be allowed to sell junk on ebay. This cannot be restored and it is "not" a project car. It has been rat infested, there is no solid metal on the car, it left a trail of rust from Massachusetts to Utah, the delivery driver got a kick out of that.
The only monetary value of this car is the engine, convertible top motor and a few chrome pieces. No brakes on the car. Can't even get the wheels off to repair, they are rusted together. I'm very disappointed with the seller!!
Lubing and repair in the back yard will not be opportunities.
If Mr.Pons has any conscience at all, he will refund at least 1/2 of my money $6,766 plus $1,000 shipping = $3,800.
I don't know where he finds these cars, but they are not worth restoring. (he has another Mustang convertible listed right now, with the same verbage, he is looking for cash again. Listing #200099174492. He has excellent ratings for selling baseball cards, it looks as though he just started in the car business.
I am not rich, I can't put $40,000 to $50,000 into a piece of rusted out garbage, lubing will not fix these doors. Every piece of metal on this car has to be replaced. Shame on you Matt!! The car is not worth the $1,000 I paid to get it here. I got swindled big time, and it is time for this kind of selling to stop.

1968 Ford Mustang: Ebay neds to protect sellers against non paying bidders

I have experienced and seen to many times that someone will bid a car up and never intend to pay for it. Ebay is not cheap, the time invested and the money wasted. Ebay needs to take action against the bad bidders now! I've been on since 1998 and every year it gets worse. These people need to get arrested or if ebay won't take action give the information to the seller so they may take it into their own hands. Do I sound mad? YES I am. My sister has tried 2 times to sell her cadilac and both times the person never showed! She needed to sell to keep her home, well it's GONE! But ebay is richer for it! There are many stories like this out there and it just is not fair. EBAY won't you back up your policy on this? you know- this is a legally binding contract- b.s.

This car is a complete project and nothing like what the owner claimed it to be. He said in the auction it was a running, driving car,but wouldnt even start. The car transporter had to jump it to both load and unload it. Leaks trans fluid everywhere, and is full of bondo when the owner told me there was very little. NEVER buy a car unless you can see it in person.

I wrote my previous review before receiving the vehicle. After receiving it, these are my advices to you as a buyer for 1968 Mustang or ANY other vehicle on eBay: 1) if the seller does not post at least 20 clear & color pictures (minimum) for the vehicle showing you close up photos underneath the car, floor pans, wheel wills, in the trunk and under the hood: do NOT bid/buy. 2) it is preferrable that you hire a 3rd party to inspect the vehicle even after winning the auction. Do not feel shy and think that you MUST pay. Just have it inspected, better be safe than sorry. I can say that this was the biggest rip off ever, I'm just paying a lot more to restore it and since I'm paying this much money, it should have been a project fastback! Be extremely careful my friend. Thank God that my seller at least shipped the car and did not take the money & leave!!

I had been looking for a 60's mustang for a long time and was just waiting for the right one to become available. This one was it!!! It has a straight six that has been completely reliable thus far. It was a completely solid and original body and frame with the biggest and worst spot of rust being the size of a quarter just on the bodies surface. There is not one thing I would change about the condition this car was in when I bought it.

Classic Mustangs are great, but there are rip off artists out there. I myself was just ripped off. Some of it was my fault for not looking at the car 1st, but the seller Bob J. was not as truthfull as he should have been. He was in over his head, and didnt know much about classic cars, so his add was missleading. There was alot more rust (whole floor)than he said, the key didnt open the door locks. I paid $3000 more than it was worth in my eyes. So make sure to inspect a car b4 buying!!!

I paid for the vehicle 2 months ago. No title, no vehicle, no return of my money. Phone calls and emails to seller, Ebay, and law enforcement go unanswered. Basically, my money was stolen, and no agency will investigate. It will go unpunished, and I am simply out my money.

I've bought a few vehicles on Ebay. One item that that needs improvement when viewing all the Mustangs that are available. THe photos of key areas like the floors, trunk etc are usually cluttered with parts or other paraphanilia. Wen tking photos of tehse areas, why not clear the items out and then take those great pictures of your floors, trunk and under the hood. Otherwise great method of selling.

Thanks,

oromike

Tim was very truthful about the condition of the 68 Mustang I purchased from him. Product when it arrived was exactly as described. He was flexible in cluding when the contracted carrier backed out and I had to find another carrier to pickup and delivery the car to me!

Thanks Tim!
