What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value Range assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1965 Ford Mustang: Buyer Beware

I recently purchased a 1965 Mustang on Ebay. I looked at the pictures and emailed and spoke to the seller on the phone. The mustang was described as ready to race. Well when I received the car, there were several problems with it. The suspension on the car was modified by the seller and the left fender is resting on the tire, the headers are also resting on the suspension which if driven will damage the headers, engine and suspension. The brakes do not work and the list goes on. I filed with Ebay Fraud protection because next to the ad it said I was covered up to $20,000. Ebay said I am not covered and they cannot help me. Your Fraud Protection gives the buyer a false sense of security during a purchase. It appears that your fraud protection is in fact fraud itself.Consider me a former customer unless you step up to the plate and take responsibility.

I have bought several 65 and 66 Mustang Fastback and convertibles this year from Ebay and other classic car sites. Before you send money always get the seller to e-mail the title of the car as well as his drivers license.Get the sellers full name, address and telephone #(not a cell #).Look up his address on Mapquest to see if he actually lives there.Call him to see if his phone # is legitimate and look up his name and address in the white pages(see if they correspond).Every city and small town in North America is listed. Also ask the seller for his bank as well as the bank address and tel# and a reference(bank manager) in the bank.Call this person to get a character reference. Also ask the seller for his place of work and a person at work who can give a character reference.Do all theses things before sending any money and you will reduce your chances of getting totally screwed. And also accept the fact that the car will never be as good as described.

1965 Ford Mustang: Be careful on what you buy

It's not the car, I bought the car for my wife because it's what she has always wanted. It's been in the shop for 6 weeks and going for 7. The pictures looked nice, it even said it only had less then 500 miles on a rebuilt engine and it was certified! I fly to Las Vegas($130) and took a taxi ($60) to the house. He started it up, saw some things wrong right away and they reassured me it would be easy to fix. No seat belts, air conditioner was in place but not hooked up, we can fix that. Started to drive it home and it would not start at the gas station. Then 50 miles on the road it over heated. I had to get towed in. At the shop they said only the radiator needed to be changed. Then the exhaust, then the complete brake system, now the electrical for the headlights. The mechanic said the heater was never set up, looks like they just pieced everything together. Paid way to much for the car and now paying way to much to getting on the road.
You or have someone inspect the car before you bid. Be skeptical and ask lots of questions, like 'is it drivable?' sounds silly but don't assume just because it was rebuilt that it will make a long trip. Is it legal in you state to drive, ours didn't have seat belts and the exhaust was illegal in California. Ask if you can test drive it before bidding. Get the feel for the car.
We have beautiful car but we just want to be able to drive it. The 65 Mustang is very nice have, but not the headaches. Be careful.

Seller's 1st. time selling, very poor pic's, discription vag, alot of unknown problems awaiting new purchaser. Bidded on car after speaking with seller,"most" unknown problems not revealed, poor quality of ad kept the price low. I'm a Mustang restorer and took the chance and got a car that would bearly run. Car was built for drag racing and not disclosed, rear axle is a spool rearend for racing only and not for steet use. Ignition a total wreck and wiring a mess. Have spent alot of money in bringing car closer to original condition for resale and not there yet. Had a seller's local garage owner look/over car towards purchase and again alot not disclosed. My suggestion is, see the car before paying for it and save yourself alot of grief.

Buying a car off ebay has become a nightmare. I tryed three times to buy a 65 mustang and never got what i paid for. one was stolen the 2nd one was sold off line and the last one was not as listed.after spending $1200 more than I bid on the car it's still not a drivable car. Pay a dealership to check the car out for you if you can't see it in person you will save money in the long run. Ebay could make buying a car so easy by holding the money until the buyer checks out the auto then pay the seller no more fake checks no more bad deals honest people will not mind.

I bought a Ford Mustang Convertible of 1965. The car is currently traveling from the USA to Italy. The checks were made on self excellent. The pictures on ebay are true. What especially pleased me was the courtesy and availability of the seller. I wrote in the feedback that I bought a nice car and I found a true, great friend. I am satisfied now of purchase.

There is nothing more exciting to drive than a mustang. Buying my wifes dream car for our anniversary made me a hero and a very happy part-time driver. I can not think of anything I would dislike about a 1965 mustang.
