  Great inexpensive SLR

This is NOT a pro's camera, and that is probably it's best feature. I picked up the Rebel K2 kit as a back up for my pro level EOS-1N and EOS-3. Compared to those two this is much lighter and smaller which is what I wanted. This is a great grab-and-go camera with a small built in fill flash that is great for close in-door shots (like parties) but won't offer much light beyond about 12 feet. This is a small easy to use SLR that can't do what the big boys (EOS 1/3/A2) such as mirror lock-up or be triggered remotly or go over 1/2000 shutte speed, but by the same token, the larger EOS can't offer the same convienience found in the K2. Over all it is a great easy to use camera that is one of best values (in my opinion) in it's price range.

  Great camera!

This camera is very light. It is well made and is sure to satisfy anyone looking for a 35mm camera. My only complaint would be that the button pressed to adjust the aperture is a bit awkward for someone with smaller hands, but I already own another Canon SLR and its no big deal once you've gotten used to it.

In short: Well made, light weight, easy to use.

Not only did we get the camera in record time, but once we got it and realized it didnt work, I emailed the seller and he not only had me mail it back on his dime, but he found another one and had it mailed out to us right away. He was pleasent to deal with the entire transaction and I would buy again and again from him. Great service, which is hard to come by these days.

Upgrading from a Canon Rebel 2000, this K2 is a dream to use and the
larger back screen is a big plus. This will be a camera to hike with.

  Great 35 mm Canon Camera
Review created: 04/27/08
by:

If you still prefer to take photos with a film camera because of the warmth that film imparts this is a great camera. Easy to operate by a novice with totally automated settings. Yet this camera permits total operator control of all of the settings if you desire. Like all of the Canon Rebel cameras the EOS Rebel K2 is capable of utilizing numerous lens from micro to long distance telephoto produced by both Canon and other reputable manufactures. This camera will last you a lifetime if you treat it right.

The Canon EOS Rebel K2 will provide excellent service and exceed the needs of both novice photographers as well as the more experienced photographers.

Great camera at a great price!
Review created: 04/17/08
by:

Why did buy this camera? Hmmmm.... well, I have an afliction, something along the lines of gottahavethatnewgadgetitis... so I've got several digital plus film cameras plus motion cameras. My wife had taken over an old Rebel Xs that I bought years and years ago, and she's the anti-gadget gal... the simpler, the better.

The old camera needed replacing, and she wanted to stay with film, so the search begins. This camera is rated very highly for an entry level camera, yet it has many features of the more expensive models. It's very simple to use, and takes absolutely wonderful photos. So, it's a great middle-ground, enough gadgets on it to keep me happy, enough automatic items to keep her happy... and those of you who are married know - keep the wife happy, and the house stays happy!

So, if you are looking for a hardy, sturdy camera that you can take with you anywhere, it accepts literally hundreds of lenses, it's easy to use yet has enough gadgets for the geeks in us, then this is a great place to start. It's robust enough to hand it to your teenager to get them started in photography, and pairing this up with the vast assortment of available lenses you can shoot pictures as good as any professional! My 11 year old daughter is taking photos with this, and you can't tell the difference between her's and mine!

So far, no negative critique to this camera. I got exactly what I wanted, and at such a good price that I'm totally happy with this purchase. How can you go wrong with that combination!

  A Really Great Camera
Review created: 03/23/08

A really great camera, especially as a starter camera. A tough body and a very good, inexpensive lens. Only problem is there is no shutter release cable or remote that works with this camera. But highly recommended none the less.

  Canon Rebel K2
Review created: 03/10/08

I bought this camera to replace the the one I had, that broke. I love this model Rebel, ease of use and the picture quality are excellent. I like the screen in the back as opposed to the Rebel 2000 where it's on top.

I have not yet used the product, but arrived in good cosmetic condition. I mainly purchased the camera because I had a wonderful prior model and didn't like having to use the external flash. When I saw this newer model
Canon camera. I had to go fo it.

  SMOOTH PURCHASE....
Review created: 08/06/07

We bought this camera to use in a student photography class. The eBayer who was auctioning it off said he had bought it for the same reason and it was really never used. He was an A#1 ebayer because what he said is true, the camera was in excellent condition. The camera looked new and takes great photos. The guy that auctioned it off also was very generous to pay for insurance and overnight shipping. Thanks! 2 thumbs up....:)

I bought this camera for a film lover and used it a bit to discover all the features that my digital one has. i like the fact that it does a good job with auto focus and has at the same time the features to completely manual use. I like the fact that it came with a bigger lens (28-90mm) instead of the 28-80mm lens.
What i dislike is now i have to get bigger lenses which take up more space. but that comes with the film camera and SLR territory.
Overall, great product for great price.

P.S. also love the fact that it is not discontinued and parts and accessories are very abundant in the market.

Good Camera for an aspiring Ameteur
Review created: 02/04/07

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Overall it's a great camera. Bought the 1.8 aperture lens for more versitility then supplied lens. If taking sports photography you might want to consider the Rebel T2 which has a faster winding speed(for taking multiple "frame by frame" pictures). This one has the frame-by frame pictures, but the winding speed makes the gap between exposures pretty big.

It is a great camera for learning the basics of manual photography. Did i mention it also takes great pictures? i am currently using this camera for an advanced photography college course and it has served me well so far.

canon eos rebel k2 film camera

i bought this canon rebel k2 film camera for my photography class. i really like this camera a lot for it is nothing i have ever used in my life! the pictures come out really nice and you can't beat the amount i paid for it. although i could have gotten it cheaper if i waited a little while, but i needed one right away and i got a good deal on it! the seller actually used the camera for a photography class too and only had it for like 5 months so the camera was practically brand new! everything came with the camera that was supposed to come with the camera and all in original packaging.
