Apple iPod Third Gen. (20 GB, M9244LL/A) MP3 Player

The Third Generation Apple iPod is my favorite in the line of full-size iPods and the 20GB version is my preferred model because it maintains its small size / frame while still being able to hold a huge library of music. While the 40GB iPod is appealing for the additional storage, I still prefer the 20GBs slimmer body which is still small enough to workout with (though clearly not as portable as any flash player).

The Third Generation iPod has two major differences between itself and the 4th generation:

1) Button Placement. The 3rd generation iPod has the back, forward, menu and play/pause buttons above the click wheel. The 4th generation iPod has those button integrated into the click wheel - its completely a personal preference, but I like the button sitting above the wheel because, to me, it provides faster scrolling and more direct response. That said, I know several people who prefer the 4th generation. Up to you!

2) Battery Life. The biggest advantage of the 4th generation is its improved battery life - that said, I get far more than the suggested 8hour battery life. My iPod will generally last nearly two full work days with about 12 hours of use.

I do prefer the 3rd generation iPod to the 4th generation and, on eBay, it's a rather substantial price difference that gives the 3rd generation iPod the edge in my opinion. Either way though, you can't go wrong.

This was with out a doubt the most stupid purchase that I have ever made. I didn't read the descripition on the item. If I would have I wouldn't have bought it. I did NOT read the description. If I had I wouldn't have bought it. Not only did the guy say that he was selling me a piece of junk. He was insulting in the description! I learned a valuable lesson. READ the descrpition! I had to give him a positive feedback because he did eactly as he said. Even though it was a piece of garbage! It was a good lesson, although it was an expensive one.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT FITS MY NEEDS PERFECTLY. ALL THE FEATURES WORK GREAT AND THE 20 GB WILL HOLD ALL MY MUSIC PLUS A LOT MORE...!! LOVE IT.!!

I DECIDED TO BUY IT BECAUSE THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND I NEEDED IT TO PLAY MY TUNES IN MY NEW CTS CADDY WHICH HAS A USB PORT BUILT IN JUST FOR THE IPOD.
THIS WAS ONE OF MY GREAT BUYING EXPERIENCES ON EBAY.

This is a great Ipod, although it is an older one It is in excellent shape and full of great songs. Shipping is reasonable and the item wasn't a bad deal either. Thanks Again

This was a rip off. They knew it had problems and did not report. Then when asked to take care of it insisted it be taken to repair shop. End up costing more than
a new one.

Apple's fourth-generation iPod delivers notable improvements to an already excellent product--and at a lower price

I purchased this item to replace another one stolen while on vacation in Mexico. The item purchased works fine, and came with about 1600 songs, and replacement batteries. However, I would not recommend purchasing this type item without the installation CD included. I have tried everything the HP, Microsoft, and Apple recommend, but I still cannot connect this iPod to iTunes (or any other software) to download my on music collection.

Absolutely Fantastic. I really wish that Apple had kept this style of iPod on their product line. Right now I don't feel that I need a video iPod, or 160gb of space, so I grabbed one of these to listen to plain music with. The only thing that I dislike about these iPods are their battery life. If you put in a 20gb CF drive, the iPod will probably have much more battery life and it will be much more reliable.

It was a very good deal for what I pd. I git the wireless headphones and a 30gig ipod. It came with a charger for the computer and the wireless headphones with a charger as well. All in al it is in good working condition, no working problems. There is a scratch on the screen that wasn't mentioned but you can't see it when it is turned on. The seller had VERY OPEN COMMUNICATION!!! He was willing to solve any problems that had occured (which there weren't any came up). Good ebay seller!!!!!

The iPod third generation 20 Gig, is by far the biggest bang for the buck!

Most will probably need to have the battery replaced which is very low priced and available on ebay. Accesories such as iTrip, & Car chargers are also low cost, but be sure to use a firewire auto charger the USB type are for the newer ones and do not charge correctly.

I now own 3 of these gems and am quite pleased with them all, and are better than the newer smaller ones.

I think I will use mine forever, I do have alot of music (about 7,000 CDs) but I can load up the iPod and drive cross country and back and not listen to the same song twice.

I like throwing money down a rat hole. this Ipod looks great. the battery is shot. I asked for a trade or money back got neither

I wanted an I pod to let my mother, who is in a nursing home, listen to some books. The ipod did not work properly at first because of the battery. after recharging it a few times it seems to work ok. It dies not stay recharged as long as a new one, but it stays charged up long enough for what I am using it for. I like it.

Everything works great, and came on time. :) The seller was great about emailing, and updated me. I was pleased and would buy from them again!

I am very pleased with my purchase from this seller. I received my ipod in good shape and verygood working order I highly recommend this seller to people looking to make a purchase.

After misplacing my Ipod Third Gen., I searched for the same model since I had the proper software and accessories. As advertised, this iPod was in good condition with a good battery, earphones,cables and dock. It works well. I found my old iPod but will keep this one for data back up. In addition, the delivery was quick.

Initally I was very pleased with the ipod. But it lost memory within a month and is now inoperable. I have tried every fix I could find on the internet and none of them can even make it be seen by windows no less itunes. When it ran it was great but it wasn't worth the money for how quickly it died with only normal use.

He sent me the wrong iPod first, then when he sent me the right iPod it did not work, he wouldn't fix it, so I had to send it to send it back to iPod (apple)for a new iPod that worked. I wouldn't buy anything from this seller again. It's bulky and inconvenient.

This unit works great.It has good battery life and case is in excelent condition. Where else could you get a 20GB iPod or any MP3 (new or used)player for less than $100.00 except on eBay

the apple ipod is convienient and a great thing to have but i am dissatisifed with the length of battery. i would have expected the battery life to be 8hrs like the seller said it was but i feel it is less, this is extremely frustrating. even though this length of battery is unsatsifactory i still feel this may be a worth purchase because it is more convienient as oppsed to carrying around a bulky cd player.

The ipod froze and I was never able to get it to function. I was told it would cost between $79 and $199to fix.

The ipod came with good accessories as well as being in good shape, for a good price.

What I didn't like, and the reason why I rated this purchase as being Below Average, is because I got "sandbagged" with the fact that this ipod I bought is in need of a NEW battery. I don't mind buying a new battery. It's was extremely frustrating when there is NO notice of this in the initial description, so when I go to use it to upload at a friend's house the ipod is no good to upload because the battery is that close to DEAD it won't upload anything.

I previously bought the 4th Gen iPod off of eBay 2 years ago for my oldest daughter and she still loves it. I bought my second iPod which was the 3rd Gen for another daughter and she is also happy with it. I have never had any problems with purchases from eBay, even items from Europe.
