This book is a fantastic read! My only regret is waiting so long to get a softcover edition in order to read it. (I do not read my hardcover editions, to keep them in immaculate condition) I am anxiously anticipating the third installment, whenever the two masters create it!

Why I purchased Black HouseWhat I liked about Black House was the author, Stephen King, of whom I am a big character. I have always respected his talent for writing and his ablility to put fear of his readers as well. I am basically trying to collect all of his novels, and this one was no exception. I thought it was well written and in certain parts was able to shake me up considerably.

This book was very disappointing. I have read the Talisman many many times and it is one of my favorite books by Stephen King and Peter Staub. It has been a long time since I have bought a recent book by S.K. So I decided to try the sequel. Bad choice.
At first the book keeps the pages turning. Middle very slow. End very predictable. Some of the characters are well thought out and written. Others are not. As usual your favorite character is killed off. No surprise there! Not exciting like the Talisman. It's almost as if the authors ran out of ideas and decided to end it. Would not recommend. It will go back on the shelf and gather dust. Very disappointing sequel.
