This was the third Susann book I read way back in the 70's, and the last one I added to my collection. What a story of money, power, privelege and the things one will compromise to attain it. The secrets and lies, the father complex and worship that the main character deals with, and where it ultimately leads her is spellbinding. Jacqueline Susann let us peek into a world that shows us that money does not buy happiness, and the things it can buy can't take the place of what the heart really wants. This book stands the test of time....it was great when it came out, and it still holds it's own among the trash that is being published as artful storytelling....
