LG VX8300 (Verizon Wireless)

The follow up to LG's VX8100 this phone has been slimmed down and improved a bit in the looks department personal choice I prefer the silver more then the blue on the VX 8100
Pros on this phone Reception is VERY good I get signals everywhere and even in areas where I have had Zero bars of signal I could still make and receive calls with no problems. Hearing people has not been a problem on the VX8300 as it was on the LG VX8100 (the problem on the VX8100 was fixed with software version 7) I have had a few people ask me to repeat myself (perhaps they just have trouble hearing) bluetooth capabilities for this phone dont seem up to par with my LG VX9800 I have tried several times pairing up a Motorola HS820 with the VX8300 and it took a few tries before it Paired with the phone
even then it doesnt seem as good as the bluetooth on the 9800 or the VX8100
Perhaps this is a software issue with the phone and be fixed in future updates
The outer screen is ok and doesnt seem as crisp as the Outer LCD on the VX8100
You also Cannot read text messages from the front screen really not a big deal since you have to open a phone to respond to text messages anyway but Im sure some will find this a hindrance
the camera on this phone for a sub 2 Mpixel camera is very good IF your subject sits still but for a camera phone it does what it should and does it well this IS a PHONE after all

the battery life on the phone seems to be on par with what most CDMA phones get of course depending on your usage of text messaging listening to music, playing games and GASP using as a phone talking to people you should expect to get somewhere between 3 and 4 hours talk time and if you hardly ever use the phone right around 6 or 7 days

I did not have a Micro SD card so I couldnt try out the music features & Capabilities of this phone

Inside the phones main screen is bright but for some reason doesnt seem to be the same quality of the VX8100 in the menu section of the phone you have the Capabilities to change the Menu Themes from the Normal Verizon UI that is found of most their phones now
you can choose from The Normal Default Setting, Silver Spin, Pulse, Business, Tropical, and Blue
Which is nice to be able to change the Red Title bar found at the top of the screen of 99% of verizons phones to blue, green, or .... Keep it the boring Red
The Ringers are still the normal boring ones found on practically every LG that has been released the last 2 years Which is good for Verizon so they can force you to Buy Ringtones from their Wide Variety of partners using the Get it now service

The buttons on the phone are looking at the phone from the side appear flat but they are raised The Camera button is on the side of the phone and the speakerphone button stands alone no multi function use on it

Voice Activated commands work well and had no trouble understanding me when I said "my account" or send message to
although some friends with higher pitched voices had trouble getting it to understand them

This is a great LG phone with some nice add on features to the LG VX8100
is it worth upgrading to? Depends, if you can get it from Verizon cheap enough go for it otherwise I would stick with the 8100 or go with the LG VX9800
If you havent upgraded in a while and would like a great phone that wont disappoint the VX8300 might very well be your next phone

the particular one i recieved was in really good shape it was for my son who had broke his other 8300 and i feel that they are probably the best phones that is made for verizon anyway my whole family has the 8300 and not one problem with them yet great recption in our area the only problem is that i wish they had a little more internal memory to hold more messeages but otherwise great phone would recommend to anyone

From the begining I knew what I was buying. The LG VX8300 may not be the most stylish phone but has excellent features: A good reception, clear display, dual speaker system for music playing, stereo bluetooth capability so I can use it with wireless stereo speakers like an mp3 player. The seller was honest to describe the pros and cons, but I received it and it works great. Thank you so much, I'm very happy with it.

Its good looking, easy to use, uses a micro sd memory card so you can load your own music files on the phone and store pictures, it has external music controls,and it has great sound.

It was the same phone that my daughter broke so it was the one she wanted. The phone was in pretty good condition for being a used phone.

Needing another phone and having already owned this model, I knew if I could find a good Ebayer with a good price I would buy it again. Ebay is a great place to find product that you are familiar with. I would never buy this item at the new retail price, but even pre-owned by a good Ebayer, I could get a product I liked at a price I could pay....Thanks Ebay for form that allows that scenario.

I decided to purchase this phone after much research. I do not work so I do not need anything fancy or with a lot of data on it. This phone is just right for a person in their 30's - 50's. I decided to purchase it because I liked what I read on all of the Consumer Networks. The keys are big enough for me to text my children. It is VERY easy to use. The camera on the phone works great and takes quality photos for a cell phone of this calliber. This phone is capable to use V-Cast for those of you wanting to receive clips of news, etc but I don't even bother with that. This phone was actually re-furbished and it still works like a charm. I only paid $41 for it and it was well worth it. I can turn the speaker phone off with the touch of a button if I want a private conversation. In MY opinion, this phone ws well worth what I paid and I would purchase an upgrade of it if the upgrade is as easy to work as this one is. Highly Recommended.

This phone was purchased as a spare phone. We put it to use immediately and it worked great. Although somewhat used and challenging in appearance, the phone has great features and the camera works great. We like these 8300's as back up phones.

The LGvx8300 is an incredible phone. With the large side speakers and built in mp3 player this phone is a must have for any big music fans who like to listen on the go. For the price you can get these phones they are great compared to some of the phones Verizon has out now. Removable memory is just another plus to this phone.

This is the the very best phones I've ever had. I love the speakers being located on the sides instead of the front or back. I also love the vibrate feature on this phone it is the strongest I've ever seen. Great signal strength at all times, great call sounds also. You can't go wrong with this phone in my opinion!!!!!!

I know that buying cell phones on EBAY is a rixk, due to the fact that you do not know what condition the cell phone is in or if it will work with your cell provider. however, I decided to take that risk and it worked out for me great. Not only did the phone work with my service provider, but the phone was in great condition to be a used phone. I couldn't believe that I got the phone for so cheap. I was up for renewal on my contract, and I didn't have to sign a new 2 year contract in order to upgrade to a new phone. I bought the phone on EBAY and hooked it up, and now I just have to pay a month-to-month bill. A win-win situation for me!!

This item had software glitches. It kept working fine and then randomly turned off. This was pretty frustrating. I bought it because it was similar to the phone I previously owned and I figured that I would already know how to work it.

Great phone. Easy to use and program. My daughter had to replace her original phone because it got wet but we went with the same model because we didn't have any problems with the phone up until that point. The only suggestion I have for any cell phone manufacturer is to perhaps consider making phones waterproof or at least water resistant.

The seller did not ship the item, did not respond to e-mail. I recommend that the seller be removed from e-bay. I am not concerened about the payment I already made. This seller is 100% unreliable.

The phone worked great, and even came fully charged. The battery holds a charge for a long time. The phone works great. I really like it. I sync it with my Mac using BitPim.

I own a LGVX8300 Now and it is starting to go out. So I wanted another phone like this one. The LG phone is either digital or analog phone and we get reception almost every where. I have owned LG Phones for at least 7-8 years and love the product.

The phone sounds good and has good reception. You'll be talking when others are walking. There is a speaker phone so you can let others listen in. Likewise you can load up mp3s onto a micro SD and play music.

This phone takes removable micro sd memory and has a camera that does movies with sound. With a 2 GB micro SD, you can record a couple hours of video and then pop the SD chip into your PC to watch.

If you are a contractor and you get your marching orders fast, you can record them and pick them apart later. When the client says he "...never asked for that!!!" you can go back and verify.

The phone does bluetooth, although I did not use that feature very much.

Mine got dropped onto concrete several times and it never got more than a few scratches. I used it for more than a year and then gave it to my daughter (with a new battery) after her mom ran her phone through the wash. My daughter is very happy with it.
