I followed the Wipeout series from the beginning. While previous games focused on racing with weapons just used to gain small advantages, this game has placed a much larger component on the fighting and eliminating opponents aspect. While I enjoyed this aspect of the game, I found the handling of the vehicles to be lacking. Where the older versions truly had the feeling of flying above the track, the vehicle feels locked to the track at a fixed altitude in this game, giving a much more typical racing experience. I found it to be lacking.

This game has extreme hi-speed racing with great graphics.I also think that the difficulty levels are well suited. When you first buy it and you have not gotten used to it you can play on a lower level.

This game is truly great! Graphics are stupendous and reminds me of a Star Wars from N64 type game. You wont be disappointed with this game! Worth the purchase / rental!

Wipeout has come a long way to lead to it s climax of the series, Wipeout Xl, and it has been through just that much more to reach it s rebirth that was Wipeout III, so now where are we left to do with the Wipeout Series!? Well logically like all of the games before Wipeout Fusion might very well use the formula, Hey, let s copy the last game s traights, 85.5% . So was this same formula used for Wipeout Fusion? Is Wipeout Fusion doomed to be a much prettier version of Wipeout III [Horrible learning curve and all]!? Luckily this was not the case and this Wipeout is actually the most original...

Wipeout Fusion is the latest game in the Wipeout series, as you might have noticed I am reviewing the version for the PlayStation 2. I must say that this latest version is a far cry from the first version that was released. If you have never seen or heard of this game it is quite similar to other games such as F-Zero for the Super Nes (a previous favourite of mine), but obviously a whole world away as the game has so much more to it. Originally Wipeout Fusion was released in Europe and Australia several months ago, but nobody had heard or said anything about a North American release until Bam Entertainment finally fished it out of Sony's basement and shipped it in mid June. The seasoned Wipeout masters will probably still enjoy this title, as the gameplay feels a little different than in the previous version's but overall has that classy Wipeout touch of no-wheels racing.
