325 Creative Prompts for Personal Journals by J. A. Senn (1995)

As a language arts teacher, I have relied on this book for years to provide some interesting writing prompts in my classroom. I especially like the prompts in this book, because they are linked to historic people, places, literature, and other items from popular and historical culture. The book is a lifesaver if you're looking for a quickwrite topic, and I have been known to photocopy a page or two from the book and hand it to a reluctant writer to get them started. So, the book is great for giving one prompt at a time to the whole group, and it is also great to share with kids who are stuck figuring out a writing topic.
