Cupcakes by Anne Byrn (2005)

Wonderful recipes, some unusual and all very tasty.
My sister got this book first and we made 8 doz. cupcakes for a July 4th picnic. There were no leftovers! (And I ate four of them myself!) Lots of useful tips and very practical advice. The author is a "real" person who lives like the rest of us and tailors her advice and recipes so anyone can do them.
I have a Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator which makes frosting go lickety-split (although you have to double the frosting recipe because you will use more - but the frosting is easy to make.)
If you have to make something for children or something different for guests, this book is loaded with ideas.

I purchased this book after borrowing a friend's copy and deciding that too many of the recipes looked too tempting not to try! If you refuse to use cake mixes, then this book may change your mind. The recipes are great!

I checked this book out from the library and realized I had to have it. There are so many unique ideas that I can't wait to try. I am a big fan of the "Cake Doctor" but was surprized to see so many new ideas in this book. Highly recommend if you want to try something new.

The book is great. The recipes are easy to follow and the book includes a lot of great ideas for cupcakes.

I have a love for cupcakes and I probably have more cupcake recipe/decorating idea books than anyone on the planet and I loved this book! It is filled with tons of great recipes! I love to bake, but with two small children I don't always have the time to bake from scratch. This book is full of great ideas for simple add ins for boxed cake mixes that will make your guests wonder how you managed to find the time for baking! The recipes are divided by holidays and special occasions so it is easy to look up a recipe for a specific theme! There are also several ideas for other baked goods using a cupcake pan, such as mini pies -- too cute!

This book is excellent for making special cupcakes. Kids of all ages will love the recipes, which are great for all occasions. I recommend this book and Anne Byrn's other books.

This is a great addition for the cookbook library of someone who likes to bake but is NOT a baker! I so enjoy just "doctoring" cake/muffin mixes to taste homemade and add to a dessert menu.

My daughter checked this book out of her elementary school library and we made the Groundhog's Day cupcakes. This book is well organized, and the recipes are fool-proof. I am a great cook, but a terrible cake baker, but with the recipe in this book, our cupcakes were not only easy but cute and delicious! We had so much fun making the cupcakes and sharing them with friends that we ordered our own copy from eBay! I highly recommend this book--it is based on using boxed cake mixes so you save time, and the recipes are diverse and well-tested. There are cupcakes and muffins for every occasion. This is a great book for the weekend and evening baker, and for supplying cute cupcakes for your child's class parties and bake sales. My daughter and I are hooked on cupcakes--no more big cakes( that fail) for me!

This book is just as wonderful as the rest of Anne's books! It brings kids into the kitchen and has wonderful recipes in which children can help make and create and decorate! As a cake decorator I wanted to have all of Anne's "Cake Mix Doctor" books and with these additions I was able to add some fantastic flavors and designs to my client offerings! These books are an excellent addition even for the home baker as they give you simple instructions on making the best looking and tasting things!

The book arrived on time and was in new condition. Since it was a gift, I was happy to see it come before Christmas.

I have a Ms. Byrn's Cake Mix and Chocolate Cake Mix cookbooks and now this wonderful addition! There are surprising additions and creative toppings and even made from scratch frostings. The warm Chocolate Cupcakes with Molten Centers are so yummy! There are even Jelly Doughnut Cupcakes! Ms. Byrn throws in some wonderful decorating ideas for the holidays. I have made some of these cupcakes and was asked for the recipe....so how close to homemade is that? If you are short on time you won't be disappointed in any of these recipes. I made the Red Velvet Cupcakes with White Chocolate Peppermint Creamcheese Frosting and not one was left on the plate! All of us would love to bake from scratch but when you can't then let Ms. Byrn's cooks help you out.

The recipies are quick, easy and most of all great tasting! I was looking for a book that used regular box cake mixes for quick baking and this was perfect!

I like the fact that the recipes are easy to follow, I've only made a couple of them and they turned out yummy!

THis book is great! you can take a ordinary cake mix and make some spectacular looking cupcakes. They are very pretty and taste great and so easy to make! Love love love this book! :)

This book has just as many great recipes as Anne Byrn's other books (Cake Mix Doctor). Especially love the Cookies & Cream cupcakes

This is a great cookbook for a wedding shower. I have given this book twice. Add a muffin pan, a couple holiday cupcake liners and a cakemix and you have a nice gift for the bride.
I love the Cakemix Dr.'s books.

I was really excited about purchasing this book. I asked the buyer if I could purchase by paying with a MO instead of Paypal and they said yes. I won the auction for the book, I sent my Mo the next day and I emailed several times with the buyer communicating back with me about my purchase until finally they said they had my MO and no book as I had not purchased it. They did send me my money back but I am deeply disappointed as I have Anne's other books and love them!! So guess I can't really give a review since I did not recieve my purchase. :O(

Cupcakes for kids range from Cotton Candy to Caterpillar, and priorities delightfully in place, Byrn provides party-planning suggestions for favors and activities that complement the cupcakes.

I especially like the helpful hints provided in "The Cupcake Doctor Says" which appear throughout the book. Recipes for creams, glazes, frostings and sauces are also provided.

I loved the Cake Doctor cookbooks but was disappointed in this one. There is not enough variety in recipes and too much time decorating for me. I like simple and easy recipes that are quick to make. I Would of liked to see more options in recipe selection. Most of the recipes seem to be geared towards kids, and not enough more adult type recipes to choose from. It's a okay book, but I doubt I'll use it much.

I received this book as a Christmas present last Christmas, and it has not failed me yet. Within days of receiving it I had 5 requests to borrow it, from my 12-year-old cousin to my 80-year-old grandmother. Proof that there is something to appeal to everyone in this book! The pictures are appealing, the directions straightforward, and the results delicious. What more could you ask for in a cookbook?
