Ginsberg's book is an excellent primer for those just now realizing something that is called eBay. The first 100 pages provided, for the most part, stories drawn from Ginsberg's own personal experiences on eBay, the trial and the error, etc. If you have been using eBay for buying and leisurely selling for six years as I have, you will find most of what he has to say as a good reminder of the days when there were no manuals to tell you what or what not to do. Back in the early days of eBay, you learned the hard way. This book ensures you won't have the learning curve that myself and Ginsberg had to battle through.
The final 200 pages are a bit better in getting into the details of what things to do right and what things to avoid doing. There were small pieces of information I did not know, which I found helpful. At times he would plug his own products, which is fine, I suppose, but I would have appreciated a little bit more beef in the advice he was giving.
If you have ten dollars to blow, this is a worthwhile investment. If you don't, you could find many of the hints and tips Adam provides in a newsletter online or on eBay itself.
And, if eBay University comes to your town, take advantage of it. You will learn a lot about how to operate a real business on eBay.
I recommend that graduates of Ginsberg's book move on to read Debra Schepp's eBay Powersellers Secrets book, which provides substantial information about how to find products to sell, etc.
My own advice is to take it slow. There is not a fast cash way to success on eBay. You have to do your homework and experiment before finally finding your niche. Be patient, study hard, and read books like Ginsberg's, and you will do just fine.

I've been buying on eBay for around three years now. I have often day-dreamed of opening my own store there, but I have never just gotten down to it. Adam Ginsberg almost described my own character when he wrote about just putting this off till he had time. Meanwhile, time marches on.
With the inspiration garnered with this book, I have decided that it is already late enough for me. I am now going to open up my own eBay store!
His book is not only inspiring, but provides key information on how to get started, without gumming up the works with all of the details of everything that is available in the Monster Movement known as eBay. It can be intimidating for a beginner, but he was a beginner too, and now he's a Super-Star! While my sights may be a little more down to earth, I'm still looking up, and he's given me a direction to use. I would reccommend this book to anyone not familiar with online auctions, stuck in a dead end job, unemployed, handicapped, housewife (or husband!),or even just wanting to augment their already satisfying job. It's given me hope...hope that I can improve my life, and have fun doing it.
They just don't teach this stuff in school, folks! If you want to be successfull, follow in the footsteps of someone who has already succeeded, and the same path is available to anyone willing to walk up the steps that he has tread before us. With this book he shows us the path, and points out the steps.

I have been buying on eBay about a year but now I am beginning to sell. I felt I needed guidance from someone who had succeeded in this capacity like Adam Ginsberg so I bought it on eBay. I read it from cover to cover and gleaned many helpful hints and ideas from it. Even though it was published in 2005 it is still current and very helpful in my eBay business. Now that I have read it I can sell it...on eBay, of course.

When I first decided to begin learning how to sell items on eBay, I went to the library and checked out several books on the subject. The one that I (overwhelmingly) enjoyed the most was Adams Ginsberg's book. After finishing the library copy, I loved it so much, I bid (and won) for it on eBay. It is incredibly motivating and it's full of really useful, easy to understand guidelines on how to get started. It covers everything from just starting out to tips on how to better improve sales and profits for more experienced sellers. He is a very engaging writer and there were times when I felt as if he was speaking directly to me and to my situation. This book isn't as technical as some, but that not a bad thing at all. His story is so inspiring and he is so positive and encouraging, I am now absolutely convinced that selling on eBay is truly a dream come true for me and my family.

This book has been the most informative book about selling on eBay that I have found. Adam writes very well and makes the information easy to understand. The book is not choppy and flows very well. I liked the book so much that after reading other books about eBay and found that they were poorly written that I searched Adam's name hoping to find more books written by him. This book is my favorite about eBay and I have 7 so far. You get web site resources, examples of the points that are being made, do's and don'ts, and a personal feel that you will succeed on eBay.

This is an excellent book to learn about eBay with. Although it deals with trying to use eBay as a business it gave me a lot of help in just learning to be a regular seller on eBay. It is well worth the money and I am really glad I got the bid for it. I will pass it on to a friend who I attended an eBay/Postal service class with as he is wanting to begin a business on eBay. My first book to read on eBay itself, this man knows what he is talking about. I've even became a member of his web-site. There are others who are so called "Gurus of eBay". Take it from a man, Adam Ginsberg, who doesn't claim this self portrait. He's got students to vouch for him. Listen to their success by following his program and advice. Check www.adamginsberg.com for the testimonies. As for me? I take heed to his proven techniques.

This book was very helpful and made getting started with Ebay very simple. I was able to get myself up and running and selling things on Ebay, and now I'm hooked.

For anyone looking to buy & sell on Ebay, this book is the manual for doing just that on Ebay. Everyone knows that working with Ebay is the ticket to some financial gain. But just how to approach this matter needs to be understood & this book does all of that & more.

As an enthusiastic Ebay fan I was eager to learn all I could about this venue, however all I got from this book was some very generalistic, basic, information that anyone could attain by just surfing Ebay and observing how things work. If I had it to do over again I would have saved my money. A high school junior totally unfamiliar with Ebay could have written this book by simply observing the site for a couple of hours.

This is a great book for people who want to start selling on ebay and especially for people who want to start a business on ebay. It's full of tips, ideas, and tons of facts. For me this book was very helpful, easy to read and understand. It's not so complicated that someone new to ebay would not be able to understand. I'm not new to ebay, I've been a member for many years and I still learned alot from it. I finished it very quickly. It covers everything you can think of. It's very helpfull to have!!!

I just finished this book last night -- lots of great ideas and motivators and real-life experiences from a guy who started his business on eBay just to get his mom off his back! Adam Ginsberg writes as if he knows you and knows what you expect from him as an experienced eBayer. I bought this book to help get me started with a real career with eBay, and with Adam's tips and techniques, I feel much more confident about what my next steps need to be. He writes in a very clear and concise manner and is very easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to take their eBay business to the next level. So glad I bought it! And this is one item I won't be selling on eBay -- plan to keep it to go back to, time and time again! A MUST-READ!!! Thanks for all your expertise and willingness to share, Adam!

This book contains a wealth of information on a very wide range of topics that are critical to dealing on eBay. This author is one of the greatest in this subject. Anything you need to know is in this book. Highly recommended.

I attended Adam's three day workshop and recommend his book to anyone who is interested in starting a business on eBay. The book is comprehensive, easy to read, and written with wit and pratical time saving tips. And I usually save at least 20% on the purchase price when I buy it on eBay.

This is a good beginners book for those who never sold on eBay or have been selling here and there and now are thinking of starting an eBay business. I found it easy to read and inspiring. He gives a good overall picture of what eBay is about, what are the various listing types you can use, how to start an eBay store and some marketing tips like adding freebies to your listings. If you have read other eBay books I'm not sure you would benefit from this one, again it's a good beginners book.

Adam Ginsberg book is an excellent resource on getting on your way to being an entrepreneur on eBay. Reduced the amount of time and mistakes by giving helpful insights. I highly recommend "How to Buy, Sell & Profit on eBay." It is a great starting point to begin your eBay bizness.

I don't regret purchasing and reading the book, because I found it inspiring. The information was useful to me, and I will go back to it again and again, but... much of the information was nonspecific which is something I was looking for. "How" to me means "how". There was not enough "how". How.... ever... it's a keeper, and will go in my ebay reference library.
