If I could only have or hear from ONE Bible, it would be the "The Message" Bible. It is EXTREMELY easy to understand and remember for everyday life. I have bought two of these Bibles for my friends and they both say it's the best Bible they have read.
It's a great Bible to give to people who are not believers or new believers because of it's simplicity and the every day language it uses. I find myself reading scriptures that I've heard all my life for the first time in "The Message" Bible and saying "Ahh, now I see what this means!". I read that Bono from U2 said this Bible brought him back to his Christian faith. It's life-changing! And written like a very good novel.
If I was on an island stranded, I would want "The Message" Bible and a cell phone! ;)
