Man at Work - Hay, Colin (CD 2003)

I like the Men at Work songs but truly enjoy them more by himself. I just love it hope to get him to do a concert someday. Thanks to Scrubs for turning me onto his music.

I bought this after hearing his version of "Overkill" on Scrubs. I mostly listen to the versions of the old Men At Work songs since I'm familiar with them. His solo versions of these songs are so great that I think I prefer them to the original versions (is that a sin?). If you were a Men at Work fan, you'll surely love this CD. Buy it.

I have really come to enjoy this CD. Colin Hay, the voice behind the 80's group "Men at Work" produced this album which includes original compositions, acoustic redos of MAW classics, and even a bonus track. I originally purchased this for the song "Overkill" which has a captivating melody and provocative lyrics, but have come to love many of the tracks. Anyone who knew MAW or followed 80's music will instantly recognize "Down Under" which Hay does in two versions. I was not previously a MAW fan (I was barely alive when the song was originally released), but may have to go buy an album just from the allure of Hay's revisions.
