Greatest Hits - Journey (CD 1996)

Go ahead… admit it. Journey is one of the great 70s and 80s bands – symbolizing 80s rock, hair spray, wild vocals and outfits. Lead by Steve Perry, Journey wrote and performed some of the most classic songs of the 80s – in fact, people often hear some of the songs and, after singing the lyrics, are surprised to learn its Journey.

The power ballads make the CD and scream 80s rock: "Faithfully," "Open Arms," and "Send Her My Love”. Non ballads songs like: Anyway You Want It" and "Don't Stop Believin'” are equally fun.

Other notes: This CD has a DVD companion that I purchased off of eBay as well. It does the band and songs such great justice mostly because of the outfits and hair. But if you watch closely enough, you will even see that American Idol judge Randy Jackson was part of the band in several scenes (looking awful!) as the bassist. Also, Journey is currently touring – it’s a great show, but beware – Steve Perry is no longer part of the band, and its just not the same!

Extra Feature: little known fact, but this CD doubles as a Karaoke preparation CD. Any karaoke fan will love this CD because it provides classic karaoke tune after classic tune.

If I was stuck on a desert island and all I could bring was handful of items this would be on my list. I would also bring a generator, a GPS, and a satellite phone because I may love this artist but I am not an idiot!

My family and I are fans of Jouney. We enjoyed this CD a geat deal. It was delivered quickly and in excellant conditon.

It was great to compare Steve Perry style with Arnel Pineda's take on the music. Both are talented.

You don't have to be a huge Journey groupie to absolutely love this album. If you are a fan of 80's (and some 70's) rock you will love this album, not to mention the nostalgia trip you will have when you listen to it.

(Remember your pathetic attempt at singing Faithfully to your girlfriend when your parents let you borrow their car for a date?)

Any fan of 80's music, whether or not you are old enough to remember that decade, will listen to this CD over and over again. It's packed with classic radio hits. Many who don't recognize the name of the songs from the song list will say "Oh! I remember this song!!!" when they hear it play.

Go ahead, buy it! Pull those 501s and old concert T's from the closet, the ones you keep saying you will get rid of someday, and sit back and enjoy. Even better, you no longer have to hit rewind to listen to Faithfully (or another favorite track) over and over and over again.

You can buy good CD's on ebay, or Half.com a lot cheaper than going to a music store, or to places like Walmart, or K-mart.

i like all the song on that album and i love journey.i had hat exact album but i lost it thats why i decided to buy a new one

This is one of the most all time greatest albums ever.I bought this for a young lady that was 8yrs old when most songs came out...But she is now 20yrs old and LOVES This CD Like it was just played on the radio for 1st time...

Big Journey fan back in the early late 70's early 80's, even saw Journey with Steve Perry in concert in Seattle, small crowd when I saw them, it was before they hit the big time, could easily touch the stage if I wanted to & I did. Good CD to buy if you do not want to buy the entire series of great Journey CD's, which would number about 4-5, but than again the non-greatest hits CD's blend together so well from the first song to the last. Definately a CD to purchase

love the CD. I'm a relatively new Journey fan. I'm 66 and never paid much atteneion to rock but my current roommate (younger female) has this CD and it is AWSOME. Highly recommend. I've bought 3 other Journey CDs as a result.

You might say in front of your friends that you dont like Journey, but then you listen to one of their CD's on the way home. This is a very good CD. Journey is only Journey when Steve Perry is signing. They actually should have made this a double disc.

I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE i HAD THIS TAPE IN A CASSETTE, I JUST LOVED THE SONGS THAT I HAD TO GET IT IN CD SO I CAN USED IT IN MY CAR. MY CAR ONLY HAS A CD PLAYER IN IT. SO THIS SONGS ARE JUST SO GREAT

This album has nearly every great Journey tune that had you rockin' out in the 1980's. If you don't have any Journey cds, but long for their greatest hits, this is the Album for you.

This is one of my all time favorite CD to listen to. I can rememebr years ago whne this CD came out and it still is a great CD to listen to. Do youirself a favor and buy it.

I was very happy with this CD. It had the original recordings of all mmy favorite songs. I bought a Journey Greatest hits cd last year and it had a lot of live recordings...and they were great, but there's nothing like hearing the songs exactly the way you remember hearing them back in the day.

This is one of my all time favorite groups. I still relive the 70s and 80s when I listen to their music.
