I liked the fact that this was a compilation of Def Leppard's "music videos", and NOT a live concert! There are Pros & Cons either way, but I myself prefer to hear their songs at their BEST; as they were recorded, and NOT with a bunch of "screaming fans" in the background! That's just my opinion, but if you agree and are a Def Leppard fan; you MUST get this DVD, as it sounds GREAT! Thanks, and take care.
It wasn't hard to choose between the CD or DVD version of this release - kind of a no-brainer. I knew I was getting a solid "best Of" collection that spanned the career of Def Leppard up to that time (granted, with what I considered to be some glaring exceptions, but what true Def Leppard fan doesn't have their own personal favorites that they consider far too great to leave out of ANY "greatest" anthology?).
What I didn't expect and dearly LOVE about this DVD, though, is the option to listen to the band's commentary all the way through the DVD - including the special features. This is nothing short of a gift. The guys are so laid-back and funny making observations about everything from their clothes to the size of their noses to how and where the videos were shot. It is so much like sitting right there with them as they chat along and banter, it's phenomenal.
Listening to them, one can truly understand how they have thrived so well over the years without ever falling out. They just fit so well together. Such completely different personalities, but they compliment each other so well. Phil is absolutely hysterical, and Rick (Allen) keeps making references to them being "a bunch of hair farmers" in the 80s. You just have to hear it in context - completely brilliant and witty all the way through.
Fans of Steve will not be disappointed in the least as he is paid his proper and fitting respect by ALL of his mates. You'll learn so many little details of the daily lives of the guys as well as the making of the videos and the history of the band, you'll treasure this DVD for the commentary alone. Quite frankly, I bought it for the videos, but I have yet to watch them without the commentary on - it's just THAT entertaining and folksy. Makes you feel like you right at home with the band.
I recently went to a Def Leppard concert and liked it so much that i decided to buy a DVD that played the similiar songs. I liked the DVD and and after purchasing it, the shipper sent it to me immediately. Great DVD and he gave me his email address and told me that he has more of Def Leppard if i am interested, which I am! Thank-you
If you are a Leppard fan, this DVD is a must-have. All the great videos that made the band what it is today are there. Very enjoyable video-music for get-togethers or simply to play in the background at work.
If you like 80's hair bands, then you will love this collection of Def Leppard videos. It includes most of their hits and definately will throw you back in time. Warning: Your head may exlode:)
Great DVD, filled with awesome music. Some behind the scenes information and so much more. This was a Christmas present to for my brother and he loves it.
I originally had gotten this DVD from the public library, enjoyed it so much that I decided I wanted my own DVD to keep. Whenever I want a DVD or book, I always go to half.com first. This DVD reminds of when I was in high school and the first few years after when we, my friends and I, would watch MTV for hours, and got to see music videos and really enjoyed the VJs, Martha Quinn, JJ Jackson, and the gang. That is what MUSIC TV should be...not reality shows. Thanks Def Leppard for a fantastic collection!!! ras
I like the service provided by Ebay, But I never received my purchase. I will continue to use Ebay, but will be more careful with whom I bid. I bought the product because Def Leppard has always been my favorite rock band and have missed watching videos (wish MTV would have a weekend every month dedicated to videos from the 80's and 90's instead of reality shows)
Just like Historia without hello america, let it go, high n' dry, bringin' on the heartbreak with pete willis, too late for love,& rock rock.
But it has Lets get rocked and have you ever needed someone so bad from adrenalize album, two steps behind from retro active, promises, and work it out from euphoria, now from x, and a bonus video of the recording of no matter what from Yeah.
Overall good but not great.
But it's a must have for all the Leppard fans out there.
