I NEVER EVEN GOT THE MOVIE AND NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BUT THE SELLER AGREED TO SELL. IF YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO SELL THEN THAT IS WHAT YOU DO I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANYONE BUT I HAVE THIS TIME.
I bought this DVD because I had never heard of this movie and I do enjoy Kidman's work, in general. This one is a little off-center in terms of the storyline and plot but her work, as an actress, was great. All in all I'd give her high marks for her acting but lesser to the movie in general.
The movie was very slow all the way through. The story line was interesting but not as suspenseful as I had anticipated. There were nude scenes in the movie that really did not have any need of being there. They did not have anything to do with the story line. The ending was disappointing. I did like the main idea of the child trying to prove he was the former husband.I had decided to buy it for that reason, but it fell short of my expectations.
Thought this would be a good movie because Nicole Kidman played in it. I strongly suggest not for children under 13. Movie was average. Nicole was not at her best in performing. Shocked at the role she played, but after Eyes Wide Shut, guess this wasnt that bad.
I have always been impressed about the refined quality of characterization Nichole Kidman has deployed in all her films. Birth doesnot fall behind. The director handpicked his characters in one way or another to develop the plot that get to thickens at the very end. The movie keeps you in suspense until the very end just like the Others (another movie done by Nichole) and you wonder if the kid really is her husband. There are afew hints that make you believe he is the husband and others that totally throw you off. The ending is kind of open-minded because you don't get to know if she really finds out the bitter truth about her husband cheating on her while he was alive or if she is crying because the kid brought back sweet memories about her past with her husband. It would be a good suspense movie to have.
I am very disappointed in the way this movie is portrayed. It's an ok movie, but it really crosses some lines. Especially when a 10 year old boy is in the bath tub of an adult female. I found this movie discussing.
