good dvd got it as a gift for my daughter, she really enjoyed it. Very fast service. Thank you!!! It was fun for her to see the then and now of everyone on the cd.
I was just a young kid in 1964 when the Beatles were first on the Ed Sullivan show. But being the youngest of five, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the show. I remember the enthusiasm of my brothers and especially my sister as we waited to see the Beatles. Seeing all the shows today in their entirety is a real treat. The commercials being included add to the flashback quality of the programs. Some of the other acts are less than stellar, the comedians by today standards are just not funny. Of course it was a different era, and it's interesting to see what was considerd top notch entertainment. After all, we're talking The Ed Sullivan Show, the pinnacle for any entertainer of the day. Being a live program there are moments that would be edited if it were pre-recorded. For example, during one song Paul's microphone isn't working too well, but the show goes on. Several times Ed has to ask the audience to settle down as their excitement becomes a bit too loud. Eventually, he encourages them as he realizes they are integral to the mood of the event. It's a real blast to see the Fab Four as they make history. This is a must have, uncut collectible for your DVD music collection. The sound quality is better than I expected too.
Awesome. Complete shows, with original commericials, and very historic. Many great acts in cluding of course The Beatles. I love it and recommended it.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I love the Beatles and I remembered when they debuted on the Ed Sullivan show and I wanted my children to be able to see it. It was definately a stroll down memory lane. After watching this DVD, I remembered how much I used to look forward to watching the show. We liked this DVD so much that my boyfriend purchased his own copy!
Back in the hey-day of Beatlemania, I was a fan. Like millions of others, I sat in front of a TV set on the night of February 9, 1964 and watched their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. I saw their subsequent appearances as well. Hoping to return to the more innocent time of my youth, I purchased the Ed Sullivan Shows DVD. I was not disappointed. The entire collection is a great look back at not only the Beatles, but some of the other personalities of the time. I found the commercials of that era quite entertaining.
This is an amazing DVD!! For me this brings back memories of the uniqueness of the Ed Sullivan show. In my opinion, it was the best variety show, in touch with the times, and always entertaining. Ed Sullivan had a keen sense of audience appeal and it can be witnessed in these fine DVD's. What is really nice is that you can view all of the old TV advertisements of 1964-65. Of course, the best part of the show is the Beatles! This is probably the best video of the Beatles on the ED Sullivan Show that I have seen. Naturally, they are in black and white, but the sound and resolution is excellent quality. I couldn't help but tap my feet to the music. The music was great and the Beatles performances on this DVD are historic, entertaining, and legendary! Highly recommended!!
I really enjoyed it since this was aired on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was a small child. Now that I had reviewed it, I can pass it on the my sisters so they can have the pleasure of watching the video like I did.
I have always wanted to buy this DVD, and the opportunity came to buy all 4 shows for one price. I really love this DVD and am glad Ebay was there for a great price. I have seen other segments of the shows from other sources, but in bad quality. This is like the master copy from TV. Also, it gives a perspective of the times with the commercials and other acts with the Beatles. What a time capsule. The Beatles are still the benchmark for other musicans to observe. Thanks Ebay.
I bought this for the clip with Frank Gorshin. Great! I enjoyed Mitzi Gainer & the rest of the performers. My Grandkids have never seen the Beatles. Steve
Hey guy's, I was 10, 11, OK maybe 12. To this day it remains one of the Most Significant Emotional Events in my life. I can still see my dad on the coutch laughing about their hair. " You Say You Want To Change The World " They Did.

WOW! This is really great. The COMPLETE shows - commercials and all... all of the guests all of the lads' performances in beautiful Black & White!
The first three TV shows (in successive weeks in Feb of 1964) clearly depicts the tremendous energy of the band and the audience. Ed is shown several times having a heck of a time cooling off the kids so he can bring on the rest of the guests or plug a sponsor. Paul is definitely highlighted in the first show. John makes up for it by the third show however (Twist & Shout). George plays a bit to the camera and Ringo is ... well Ringo! The 1965 shows the band a little weary - off key at times - but still fun.
This is a definite YES! (or should I say Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!)
