Signs (2003, DVD)

I really liked this film. It’s a bit slow in the beginning but if you stick with it, the reward is the rest of the movie. The director and author of "Signs", M. Night Shayamalan (who also directed "The Sixth Sense" ) is a great storyteller and has a gift for letting us know as little as possible about what is going on until he must let us in on what’s going on in the films he makes, this one included all the while the suspense builds. He latches on to the archetypal fears we have and uses them adeptly.
He gives us a glimpse, but its not until the climax of the movie that we see with both eyes open and understand what he is telling us.
It stars Mel Gibson as the main character, “a man of faith” who has lost his faith, Joaquin Phoenix as his steadfast brother and Rory Culkin and Abigail Breslin as Mel Gibsons' characters children, and M. Night Shayamalan as the towns’ Vet. It is a gripping and uniquely tightly packed story with more than what is seen but also a tale of relationships and the human psyche.

The movie is great and I like it and I never had a copy and I bought this one. Its a good story and I think Mel Gibson did a very good job of acting in this movie.

Great movie, very enjoyable, will keep as permenant part of my DVD library.
I didnt care too much for the method of shipping from seller-just the DVD in a sleeve- looks like it could have been bootleg copy, i hope not. Should have came in case like the picture that i was bidding on.

i like this movie because it was directed by m night shyamalan and that guy is a amazing director i decided to buy it because i realized i havent seen this movie in like 6 years and thought i would enjoy watching it again

I as a real horror fan and a super-collector,I´m little bit disappointed on this movie! Great actors and a super director can do better than this! If´s not was for the great actor Mel Gibson and the Great Director had this movie been a real B-movie. Movie beginning as a real great movie but you longer the movie proceed you more boring it will be! Only a few surprises and seconds of tens wich do, I will give this movie Average instead for Below that!!!´

I bought it because I had never seen this all-american classic. The movie had a good storyline, but I did not like the ending... The alien invasion did not make much sense. Signs had a good moral teaching, and in that regard, I liked it.

I love everything about the movie. I am a fan of Mel Gibson & Joaquin Phoenix. I still haven't seen Joaquin in We Own The Night, which I'd like to own since it also stars my absolute favorite actor, Mark Wahlberg along with Robert Duvall & Eva Mendes. I also like the movie because I believe it features the debut of Abigail Breslin, who is becoming a big star lateley with movies like Definitely, Maybe and Nim's Island, which I'd like to see both films sometime.

I think it's interesting for a young director (37) to make such a great alien movie years after movies like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of a Third Kind, and War Of The Worlds (1953). He did a excellent job making Signs, which allows the movie to be viewed as one of the great alien movies of all time.

I bought this movie because I'd like to own all of M. Night Shyamalan's films. So far, I own The Sixth Sense, Signs and The Village. I can't wait to own Unbreakable, which I have yet to see. I haven't found out if his first two movies, Praying With Anger & Wide Awake, are on DVD yet but I'd like to buy them sometime if they're available. His next two big movies are sure to be excellent, Avatar: The Last Airbender (first of a trilogy) and The Happening (with Mark Wahlberg).

I bought this item because I have not seen the movie. It was a good production. I have viewed it twice so far. Mel Gibson was good in this movie. I don't know why ebay is requiring me to wirte this review. I can't get red of the line item from my ebay list with out writing a review. I will never buy another DVD on ebay because of this review requirement. If I had known that ebay was going to requre a review be written, I would not have purchased this movie.

Well, we had this movie in our collection but was lost in a house fire. The originality and creativity, as well as the suspense, is what has us drawn to this movie. Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix deliver action as well as drama to their roles. We saw this movie in the theatres first, and got it on DVD the day was released, and movies this good at telling a story and keeping you on the edge of your seat are far in between. This is a must have!!!

KEPT YOU WONDERING WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT WILL WATCH IT AGAIN AND AGAIN THE CHARCTERS WERE GREAT. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO OTHER VIEWERS. ENJOY THE FACT THAT WE NOW HAVE THE MOVIE SO WE CAN WATCH IT AT ANYTIME.

Signs - Another movie about an alien invasion. The only difference is that in this one the build up is so good that you find yourself getting caught up in it. You'll like this movie, give it a try.

First i like Sci Fi anyway. Second i lived close to where these crop circles were found (Bucks county Pa). It's a very good movie i think, very believable. I don't know, are "THEY" out there?

I've just bought the DVD, even though I've seen this about a million times! It's a great sci-fi suspense/thriller.

This is a great suspensful filled movie with twists and turns. The director leaves you on the edge of your seat alot and he uses Mel Gibsons character as a driving backbone to this technique. This is an amazing film and great for watching on a warm summer night. Movie highly recomended :)

I don't like gruesome gore but I like to be in suspense. This movie does it. How often do you jump when three family members are sitting on the side of a bed in the sunshine and the telephone rings? I literally jumped out of my seat plenty of times throughout the movie. Brilliantly done.

This movie to me was great. It was great because it had a sense of humor, and it isn't bad for a family movie night. No SEX, no bad language, and it isn't to scary. It is funny the 2 actors one being mel gibson are great together. The to kids are also sooo funny. It has a great climax to it and I believe you will like it. Some movies I review I say do not spend you money on it, but this one is definately worth your money. And what could you not like about a movie you can use for family night!

I love a scary movie. This movie is everything it promised it would be. If you like when your pulse is running this film is definitely for you.

I recieved my DVD promptly and in very good condition. I would definitely buy more DVDs from this seller again.

I know people who complained about it because you didn't see the alien but a few times. So what. It leaves it to your imagination, something very few people have anymore.
I loved this movie. Have seen it countless times. I think it is Awesome.

Great suspense movie by a good director. I liked this one better than The Sixth Sense. Acting is good and the theme is different even though it looks different. A scarier version of Close Encounters, this film truly deserves more credit than some duds here think. Many critics are hot-headed dumbsters who can't judge a good movie. These guys find pleasure in citicizing rather than encouraging.
