Dan Fogelberg Live - Greetings From the West (2000, DVD)

My niece lives in an isolated section of New Mexico, and this DVD was a gift for her. I tried to have the gift delivered by two Half.com vendors, but the DVD never arrived to her. THIS VENDOR SUCCEEDED! HURRAY! Whatever they did that the others did not, this Seller got the gift to its destination in a very short time. I'm really pleased.

I've always loved and admired this great and versatile musician. Of course, you can always find fault in any production or performance, but I'm glad to have a copy of these memorable musical masterpieces from an artist who had to leave us before his time. I was lucky enough to have seen many of his concerts over the years, but in this video I was particularly interested in Dan's interviews and commentaries on various songs. It has a lot of excellent songs on it, It was one of his older recordings though.
I bought it for a family member and they loved it.

Awesome video. Wonderful photography on the nature scenes. Concert was great. Songs he sang were some of the very best. Really liked the little comments Dan does about each song and about his thoughts on how to live. Great Legacy to a great song writer and singer. Love Dan & his music. Heaven received a gift when he died.

If you are a DF fan - this is a fantastic DVD. I grew up listening to DF and when I learned of his passing on December 16, 2008, it left a shadow on my heart. His lyrics were a masterpiece of feelings and his music was an ensemble. I always wanted to see DF live and now I am kicking myself for missing out on what would have been a lifetime of memories. Rest in Peace Dan.

I remember seeing Dan Fogelberg in concert around 1981 or 1982 in what was advertised as an all acoustic evening. It was just Dan, his guitar and his piano. After all this time I still rank that night as the best concert I've ever attended. Dan's music made an indelible mark on me and even though I knew he was battling cancer, it brought me to tears when I found out he had passed. I started searching for concert DVD's and this is the only one there is available. I read reviews of others who had purchased this DVD and I have to agree with the group of them who noted the direct transfer to DVD of a VHS recording. It leaves you wishing someone had taken the time to clean it up and remastered it before releasing the DVD. But I sat, and watched, and was again moved and mezmerized by Dan's music and by his performance. If you are a true Dan Fogelberg fan and want to have a lasting memory of Dan, you have to get this DVD. True fans will look beyond where the video and audio are lacking and will see a true artist, and an amazing man performing music which touches the soul. We will miss you Dan.

it was new and the quality is very good.....the comments by dan between the live songs makes it special.....having been to one of his concerts and having seen the quality of his live performance along with having tim weisberg perform on a couple of songs ,brought back some wonderful memories !!

With Dan Fogelberg's recent passing, it may be hard to give a completely unbiased review. However, for those of us who have listened to and loved his music, this is a must for the collection. Getting to view his passion as well as listen to it adds to the experience. Show starts wonderfully with "Aurora Nova" into "The Wild Places" (These were new at the time of the concert) and ends with a moving "There's a Place in the World for a Gambler". "Leader of the Band" and "Missing You" are highlights with a special new poignancy. Instant chapter access to songs provides easy access to favorites.

To my knowledge, this is Fogelberg's only DVD concert recording. By today's standards, the video and sound quality is a bit dated. The music, the messsage and the genius of this incredible musician is timeless. Look past the technical shortcomings and enjoy the music...you won't be disappointed
