This movie among all the others in the Harry Potter series really appeals to adults and starts to drift from the "children's genre" that catapulted the series to stardom. It’s funny to know that JK Rowling’s never really intended these books to be such a big hit with kids. As the books progress you can definitely see why. This movie is much darker than the others and I would caution parents to start watching the movies and reading the books from here on out before letting their kids watch/read them.

We ended up buying the 2 DVD collectors edition of this movie and I must say it was a waste of money. You only really need the movie. The "additional scenes" they cut from the movie shouldn’t have even been filmed in the 1st place. I was just hoping for more footage from the Quidditch World Cup.

All in All I really did like this movie. This was also one of my favorite books in the series as well. You really can’t go wrong with this movie!

  Harry Potter keeps getting better

Each Harry Potter film has been progressively getting better. Maybe it is because the young actors are aging. Maybe because of the money spent on the special effects. But this movie was exceptional.

Some of the other reviews state that the movie spent too much time on the games, but who wants to sit and watch a 10 hour movie? A movie naturally has to build up certain parts more than others and this movie did a good job at this. The acting was 10 times better than the first movie and I expect another leap in progression in the next film.

A good family film except for really young children. There were a few crying children during some of the more action-packed scenes at the theater so it's not a rated G For Everyone movie.

I decided to buy this DVD because looking tru my collection I saw I never bought this one. Also couldn't find it in town for this price. Buying older DVDs on Ebay just seems the way to go.
Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire is a wonderful movie, that takes us back to Hogwartz, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Daniel Radcliff playing Harry Potter is entered into a compitition that is full of dangerous events. Such as fighting a terrifying dragon & deep lake diving amongst not so nice mermaids. Harry makes a friend in Cedric (Robert Pattinson) a fellow handsom wizard. In the end it comes down to Cedric, Harry and Lord Voldamort. I highly recommend anyone watch this movie. It's a thrilling adventure.

Watch the movie before reading the book.
Review created: 09/12/08

Good points are that its better than the movie version of the Prisoner of Azkaban, made the movie longer to get more plot detail, and some neat special effects.

---- SPOILER WARNING ----

I don't mind when something is left out of the book, but I get annoyed when it changes. And the worst change was the third challenge, the maze. They removed blast-ended skrewts, the boggart/dementor, the sphynx, the upside down section, and something that escapes me at the moment. And what do they put in? Bushes that close in on you and roots that grab and envelope you? Is that all you can do with a 300 million dollar budget? Boring!

The scene with Voldemort in the graveyard was the best part.

While nothing can compare to reading the book, you've got to give credit where credit is due. This is a great addition to the Harry Potter series. Lots of great effects & a pretty good job sticking with the book's storyline. It's hard when a book is long & you've got to condense it all into a movie. I enjoyed the movie & LOVED the books!

the movie was great, it was a great addition to the other movies, the problem with this dvd in general was that the seller didnt tell the buyer that this movie was also in french, the french subtitles were a lil annoying, but other than that, it was a good movie.

This is an excellent movie for adults and most children. It has more omissions of details than the first two movies directed by Chris Columbus, which is more confusing for those that have not read the book. It is also much darker than the first two movies and might be a bit scary for younger children. All in all a good movie for young and old alike, but parent might want to be careful about showing it to very young children.

Product is great. Shipped quickly. I am pleased with the way that they handled my order. The product is a movie obviously, and I bought it because I wanted it. I think that writing this review is silly, but I need 100 characters to finish it.

  Another Tempting Potter Flick
Review created: 03/11/08(updated 03/11/08)
by:

Ah, Harry Potter.... The "budget Lord of the Rings series", although shallow as literature, is certainly exciting. The real problem with Harry is the movie's incitement toward witchcraft. If you're one of the 1 in 100 who step into these practices because of Harry's tempting stories, don't expect to finish well like he does. Real witchcraft leads to real evil, and people who get mixed up in it really change. "Goblet of Fire" is another doorway into a haunted, dark life. Better to stick with Frodo.

This is the best movie bc they have a different director, i believe. Its more like the way i imagined the story when i read the book. Still, a critical detail is yet again overlooked...HARRYS SCAR! That grinds my gears

Excellent move but not as good as the book. A book of this magnitude would probably take more than the alloted hours based on the PG rating. Young people will most definitely find it entertaining and even people that have never read the book.

  Gotta Love Harry
Review created: 01/09/08
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I've read all 7 books and absolutely Love Harry Potter. My daughter's also read all 7 books and then saw all the movies (up to 5 of course). This is her favorite of the movies. I'm not crazy about any of the movies honestly, because there's so much detail from the books that are omitted (due to time I'm sure). This movie was okay for me, but I've given it 4 stars because I know my daughter loves it.

Ok I just need 1 more person to complete an offer. I'll give 15$ on paypal to the next person who does it. Read below!

This is very EASY to do! It literally takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you, this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question, just e-mail me! Here is what you do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3 different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would regularly sign up for anyways and they're all secure networks, why not use them to get a free iPod or cash (I did the Zip.ca for a 2 weeks free trial and it is free!). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you. After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 5-13 people (depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link (just post the same thing as me in forums, Ebay, a blog or your FFR wall! and you'll get your referrals in no time.)

Then they will ship your iPod or your selected item for free, I chosed the iPod 160G. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all the referrals. All you have to do is post it on EBAY! They use us as advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own personal link after your orders placed.

This is all safe and easy!!! A 5 year old could do it.

Step 1: Click this link: http://www.YourFreeVideoiPods.com/index.php?ref=4368613

Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and best).

Step 3: Complete just 1 offer (like Blockbuster or Stamps.com, I used Zip.ca) and refer up to 13 people to do the same, you can cancel your offer after 10 days (that's for Zip.ca, it changes for other offers) so it won't cost anything.

Step 4: Receive your iPod for FREE!!!!!!!!!! (Even The Shipping Is Free!!!)

For proof that this is for real, click on the link below. It's the company that is behind everything.

Please take advantage of this offer!!! I did!!!

Check It out NOW! http://www.YourFreeVideoiPods.com/index.php?ref=4368613

If a big fan of the Harry Potter book & so of course I'm going to buy the movies. The 4th movie was really a great & exciting film when I saw it in theaters and I already had the 1st three movies, so I needed the forth movie to complete my collection. As to my complaints: well, to be honest, I have none. As in zelch, nada, none.
