Wizard of Oz, The - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition (VHS)

I really enjoyed this movie growing up and wanted my three year old to watch it with me. She loves musicals and dancing movies. She sat through the whole movie several times, which is hard for her to do. I also loved the old Judy GArland book that came with it.

Classic, wholesome, family entertainment. There are a few "scary" scenes for young children under 5.

First off, I love the movie The Wizard of Oz. I have ever since I was little. I used to have the actual vhs but it somehow got destroyed so I really appreciate having a new tape to call my own. Now that I'm older and can take care of stuff by myself I am really glad to have my own on tape. Being a collector of stuff that I am I can gaurantee you that I will take care of it. I thank you so much for having it on ebay for collectors such as myself.

Ever since I saw the Wizard of Oz for the first time as a child I have been fascinated by it. It is one of my all time favorite classic movies. One night I had my 3 year old granddaughter over night and we were flipping channels on the TV and the end of the Wizard of Oz was on. She had never seen the movie before and every time she came to my house after that she insisted we watch it. It was hard for her to understand that we couldnt watch it again as she didnt really understand the difference between tv/cable movies or VHS/dvd movies. She just knew she had to watch it again. I immediately went on ebay in search of the Wizard of Oz. I didnt realize there were several different copies of the movie so I wasnt sure which one to bid on. I saw the 50th anniversary edition and with the great discription the seller listed and especially the great price, I knew this was the one I wanted. When the package arrived, it was exactly as the seller described and in wonderful condition. I love the extra book of information that came with the special edition movie and most of all I love that the movie is exactly as I remembered it as a child. I gave it to my granddaughter for her birthday and she loves to watch it. I can just see her imagination working as all the characters dance and sing. Thanks to ebay for another great find!

I won't describe this time everlasting splendid movie since Jankp did it perfectly.

I just have a question...why did "Gone with the Wind" (release date Dec. 1939), win most of the Oscars, while this one won half as many (realease date August 1939)?

Seems these two gems became the best the industry can ever hope to produce.
