I love because I am a huge Beatles fan and have tried to acquire all of their music. This just adds to my small collection.

This is the british version of the album, excellent quality of sound!
More tracks available on this one compared to the US "Meet The Beatles" version. Great Beatles Singing Songs! A must to have in any Music Collection!
Yeah,Yeah,Yeah!

I would opt to return this order if I could. The CD is ome bootlegged version, and it is in MONO presentation format, not STEREO. The same Beatles disc that I ordered is available everywhere else in STEREO format. This was not mentioned in the "item description" online. I feel ripped off to the utmost with this order.

With The Beatles! 1. It Won't Be Long - HARD ROCK ROOTS ON THE REFRAIN,SUPERBLY BLENDED WITH SLOWER BALLAD ON THE MAIN BODY OF THE TUNE-THIS IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF WHY WE STILL LIKE THESE GUYS TODAY.MOST ALWAYS THE SONG WITHIN A SONG TECHNIQUE THAT SERVED THE BEATLES SO WELL
2. All I've Got To Do(GREAT LENNON BALLAD ,SUNG WITH CONVICTION)
3. All My Loving(POPULAR BALLAD,ESPECIALLY DURING THE WAR OF THAT ERA,EASLY APPLIES TO 2 LOVERS OVER A DISTANCE IN ANY ERA)
4. Don't Bother Me(GEORGE HARRISON'S SONG-WRITING DEBUT! CLASSIC HARRISON WRITTEN IN THOSE MINOR CHORDS HE WAS SO FOND OF AND A BREAK FROM THE "UPLIFITNG SONGS" ON THIS ALBUM)
5. Little Child(GOOD LENNON VOCAL ON THIS ROCK & ROLLER)
6. Till There Was You(GOOD PAUL VOCAL ON THIS VOCAL,THIS SHOWTUNE BALLAD IS THE TYPE OF MUSIC PAUL PROJECTED HE AND LENNON WOULD WRITE IN THEIR FUTURE..ONLY PROBLEM IS HE HAD TROUBLE GETTING JOHN TO SIT THROUGH A MUSICAL TYPE MOVIE - THIS IS BULL-- I'M LEAVING! THE EXCEPTION OF COURSE BEING ELVIS AND ROCK & ROLL ORIENTED MUSICALS.
7. Please Mister Postman(WELL DONE COVER SONG,WORKS BETTER FOR A GIRL BAND THOUGH)
8. Roll Over Beethoven(SUPERB!GEORGE GUITAR & VOCALS ON THIS ROCK CLASSIC-THE REAL MEANING,BEING BEETHOVEN ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE.THE ESTABLISHMENT PRESS PUT IT OUT,THAT THE BEATLES AND OTHER ROCK WRITERS WERE PLAYING BEETHOVEN,MOZART,ETC. BACKWARDS & PUTTING THE SOUNDS TO THE ROCK !
9. Hold Me Tight(PAUL BALLAD,DONE IN BEATLES TYPE ROCK & ROLL FORMAT
10. You Really Got A Hold On Me(EXCELLENT COVER OF THIS CLASSIC TUNE!! YOU COULD ACTUALLY BUY THIS ALBUM JUST FOR THIS ONE!
11. I Wanna Be Your Man(VERY GOOD RINGO VOCAL ON THIS BEATLE ROCKER THAT WAS INITIALLY GIVEN TO THE ROLLING STONES.BOTH THE STONES AND BEATLES VERSIONS STAND UP WELL..MY PERSONAL PREFERANCE IS THE BEATLES VERSION.IT'S A BIT MORE WILD SOUNDING.AGAIN THE STONES VERSION IS GOOD,DONE MORE BLUSEY STYLE.)
12. Devil In Her Heart(GOOD GEORGE VOCAL,OK COVER SONG BUT I WOULDN'T HAVE MISSED IT'S ABSENCE.
13. Not A Second Time(GOOD LENNON TUNE,VERY INTERESTING MELODY CHANGES)
14. Money(GREAT LENNON VOCAL ON THIS INNOVATRIVE ROCK COVER,AGAIN A BIT OF HARD ROCK'S ROOTS ARE HERE.)

it's a rockin little record I want to play... y'know, when nothing post-1965 is around
Review created: 09/30/05
by: brendan2 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Improved songwriting, good choice of covers

Cons:
Some not-too-spectacular songs, pales in comparison to later works

Once upon a time, in the early 1960s, most albums were just thrown together on the basis of one hit single. The albums rarely contained any good tracks other than the single itself. (Actually, that's not too different from today, is it?) The Beatles, however, went against the norm with their first album, Please Please Me. The album was a huge success and catapulted the group to stardom in the U.K. They needed to make another strong record in order to prevent fading into obscurity, and they did just that with their second release, With The Beatles. Although the Beatles were famous in the U.K.,.

With The Beatles - The era of Beatlemania
Review created: 03/16/07
by: scapp70 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
The Beatles second UK album provided Beatlemania globally with enough strong tracks

Cons:
I always prefer original Beatles songs to the covers, but these covers aren't awful.

Holy Shmoly, it's now been over twenty years since With the Beatles has seen its release on CD. I feel it's way past due that this CD and the rest of the original studio album catalogue gets a newly remastered version. I guess that it sort of shows just how highly regarded Beatles music is, when just about every other artist has seen a remastered upgrade of their music many times over, we Beatle Freaks are stuck with these CDs from the olden days when Compact Discs were a fairly new format. With the Beatles is the second release from The Beatles released back on November 22, 1963. These older.

Pros:
The songwriting is great. The performances are superb!

Cons:
There are still a few rusty spots. They'll surely perfect those!

  The American debut
Review created: 12/28/99
by: sparkospunky -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
historically important, a logical step in the progression of the beatles as a musical group

Cons:
none

Even though "Please Please Me" was the first album recorded by the Beatles, "With The Beatles" was their first American release. Issued in late 1963, the album was the beginning of a revolution of the world of rock and roll that is still evident today. Of the fourteen tunes on the album, six are covers, seven are Lennon-McCartney compositions, and the remaining song is George Harrison's first recorded song. The Beatles pay homage to Motown by covering "You Really Got A Hold On Me", written by Smokey Robinson, and "Money", written in part by Berry Gordy. they also pay their musical respects to.

  Another incredibly solid album
Review created: 07/27/01
by: HawgWyld -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great from start to finish; more light-hearted, fun stuff

Cons:
More of those cover songs

For their second disc, the Beatles did something very unusual for 1963 -- the band released an album full of very solid material. They did that with their first album, Please Please Me, and that rather goes against the formula established in the early 1960s. Band would, typically, get a hit single, get recognized from it and then put out an album. The album would contain the hit single along with a bunch of sub-standard junk. The Beatles, though, were an unusual lot -- even early in the band's career, pains were taken to produce albums full of solid material. With the Beatles contains its...
