Pros:
Improved songwriting, good choice of covers
Cons:
Some not-too-spectacular songs, pales in comparison to later works
Once upon a time, in the early 1960s, most albums were just thrown together on the basis of one hit single. The albums rarely contained any good tracks other than the single itself. (Actually, that's not too different from today, is it?) The Beatles, however, went against the norm with their first album, Please Please Me.
