This parable featuring two mice named Sniff and Scurry and two people named Hem and Haw attempts to address the subject of change and characterize the pros and cons of different approaches to change. Sound simple ? It is. This could be a kid’s book written in 15 point font and still not make 15 pages. How and why the author managed to generate enough verbiage to fill an entire book, let alone make a fortune as a bestseller, is beyond me. Seriously, this is kindergarten 101 stuff. Things change. You can react or not react. You can react slowly or quickly. You can be flexible or inflexible. You can embrace change or fear and avoid change. Are you bored reading this review ? Think how bored you will be reading the book.

Why would you ever buy this book ? There are plane rides that are too short to get really drunk on. There are conversations with your mother-in-law that could potentially be avoided. Maybe youre actually dealing with a major change in your life, aren’t sure how to deal with it, and need a framework to think about your options. These are all good reasons to buy the book and given the money ($5) and time (1h 25m) you’ll need to invest to read the book, it seems like a small price to pay. My big take away from this book is that I need to change professions and become a self-help writer recycling childhood life lessons in the form of parables that sit in the business section of the bookstore.

If It Works for Mice Then Its Good Enough For Me
Review created: 06/20/06
12 of 16 people found this review helpful.

A great little story using mice instead of people to show what happens to those who fear change and what happens to those who face change head on. This is a must read, no matter what your profession. We all need to know how to handle change. I think Cheese was a great metaphor for money, love or whatever it is that you are trying to hold on to in life. I have learned to relax more about my cheese and make some postive changes to ensure there will always be enough cheese to go around. If it works for mice then it can work for the rest of us!

  Who Moved My Cheese?

Our school gave this book to all staff members. They were short many copies so I took a chance to see if eBay had and they did. I was able to purchase this from this seller for a great price and in terrific condition. Thanks again for the great service.

IF CHANGE IS REQUIRED BE MOTIVATED & MIND ALTERING
Review created: 09/23/08

I did not purchase this book from the seller but read it for a book club many years ago. EXCELLENT! A quick read and lots to take into consideration! I suggest one reads the book more than once over a period of time. Take a step back and reflect how you live your life. I think everyone fits into one or maybe more of the three mice personalities. Reflect! Ask: if you move in order not to survive but to live life to the fullest and adapt to change! One person I know read the book and had nightmares! So simple a concept and such an impact!

Points out how you need to adapt to change otherwise you will be in your lonely world by yourself. The book focuses on goal setting and how to focus so that you continue to make new goals so that you don't end up with nothing to look forward to anymore.

  Who Moved My Cheese?
Review created: 08/14/08
by:

This book is written by Spencer Johnson and he is very inspiring and knows how to put words and things in a perspective to make since. Who Moved My Cheese is about: what you can do in life when things change, ways you can help someone's way of thinking. A person can be totally negitive about a situation that really upsets them, and the readings in this book may make a difference in the way they look at it.

The book was great for making you realize just how silly we can be about life and things we want or need in our lives. It really makes you stop and think, just how much good or bad too much thinking can be. We need to think, decide and then pursue our dreams, wishes, needs and desires. Great book, enjoyed reading it. The mouse pad a fun novelty item as well as the CD. These are greatly revered items in the workplace. Enjoy and reflect, but don't forget - just sitting still and waiting is not an option.

  BUYING SCHOOL REQUIRED READING BOOKS
Review created: 07/07/08

What is wonderful is the convenience of buying on Ebay for your children's reading list. My son needed this book for his summer reading. I bought it at a very competitive price. What I paid in shipping is what I probably would have blown in gas! The added plus is watching a child opening mail. It is always very exciting for them!!

Very insightful to the human character, sometimes painfully so. The intro and conclusion are lame, but the story, while sometimes redundant, is humerous.

WHO MOVED MY CHEESE? BY SPENCER JOHNSON(1998)

Excellent, easy to read. I have used this book several times and loaned it out because it is the kind of book that needs to be shared. I am in management and teach adults. Change is inevitable and this book categorizes the 4 personality types in a funny and engaging way. I was recently at a company conference and one of my colleagues asked me about the book. I told him I would get my copy back and forward it on to him with the agreement that he share with the other folks in our domain. Of course, when I asked my friend for my book to pass it on, she had already loaned it out to another of her friends. That is why I purchased this copy, it is meant to share and is basic and valuable information that everyone should take a look at. It takes less than an hour to read it. I read an enormous amount about training and continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma...etc and must say that this small little book dwarfs all of the other literature ten times its' size.

The product is fine. Writing a subjective review of a second hand product for ebay is odd to say the least. The seller did a commendable job.

I promised my mother in law I would buy and read this with my whole family. It was eye opening. I discoverd I am a cross between Haw and Scurry. I would recommend this book to anyone not sure what they want out of life.
