This is the first cd of this branch of Christian music I have purchased. Although the songs do not appeal to me personally. If they will open a young person's heart to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, I will not complain.
I enjoy listening to this because of the upbeat and the lyrics really touch me deep down. Her songs really make you think about your life and priority. Not only about ourselves but about other too.

Pros: Great introduction to this artist
Cons: It isn't synergy driven.
Where I Stand was one of the first christian albums I ever got for myself when I became a christian. Please note that I am basing my review on my memory of this album as it has been a while since I've listened to the whole thing through. One of the first things I noticed about this album was how upbeat this album was. Keep in mind that as a new believer, I was surprised by a lot of things made by "these christians." Honestly to say though, from what I heard before, ie. "Warrior is a child", I was expecting that her album would have a lot of mellow, slow, hymn like songs. I was wrong. This...

My favorite Twila album

Pros: Typical excellent songwriting, vocals and arrangements with a variety of tracks
Cons: "House of Cards" too country sounding
How can you go wrong with Twila Paris? A much more acoustic, folksy sound than "Beyond a Dream", I prefer "Where I Stand" as an overall album even without an incredibly powerful track like "God is in Control". The powerful tracks here are the softer ones, from "Hold On" and "What Did He Die For?" to "I Will Listen". Her more upbeat tracks are good, but "Band of Survivors" is still no "God is in Control" and in "House of Cards" Twila sounds like she is trying just a little too hard. You even get a great duet, "Faithful Friend" with Steven Curtis Chapman. The more standard acoustic pop numbers..
