this is without a shout of a doubt the greatest box set of the early years of the greatest sport on earth...if you like baseball even the slightest and have an appreciation for the history of the game and its players as well....BUY THIS NOW!!
The story of baseball from the early 1900's, how it has changed or stayed the same. I like this set because of the footage of the old greats in baseball. I purchased this as a gift for a baseball lover that had the first episode on a VHS tape that was getting very worn. If you know a person that enjoys baseball, is intrested in the greats that shaped the game, how it was before the night games, etc then this is the set for you. Footage of Babe Ruth and every Hall of Fame inductee since baseball began.
This is one of the Best films on baseball I Have seen in a long Time. HBO sports did a great job on this Series. This is a must for any baseball fan. And this is Baseball When it was a game. I had this on a VHS tape but it wore out I now have it on DVD.
I'm an avid baseball fan with a soft spot for the days gone bye. This box set falls right into my desire to relive the era when it really was a game. I wish I could find more like it...
I have been a Yankee baseball fan since 1949. (Baseball is life, everything else is details!) I have seen this baseball program on TV several times and enjoyed it each and every time. I decided I wanted a DVD copy for myself so I can watch it whenever I wish. It was hard to find locally, but I found it on Ebay in less than an hour. The price was good, so I bought it. The vendor sent a sealed set of DVD's promptly and I have enjoyed watching the program more than once already.
These three DVDs are, without a doubt, the best historical baseball productions I have ever seen! I really enjoy the old video footage, and the whole series has a very nostalgic feel. They are excellent!
