Patty Loveless has enchanted country fans with her countrified sound and endearing songs since the 80 s. I never really became infatuated with her sound until her 199 effort called When Fallen Angels Fly. Such overly redneck tunes such as Timber I m Fall In Love reminded me of a female Randy Travis and that was definitely something I REALLY wanted to avoid. I was pretty surprised when she came out with this album sporting a tamer twang and for the most part songs that really grabbed my attention. Loveless Sure Isn't "Talentless"

Good balance of uptempos and ballads, strong and gentle vocals, title song is extremely beautiful
Patty Loveless' 1994 album, "When Fallen Angles Fly", is one of her best. The Country Music Association was aware of this when they named it the CMA's Album of the Year in that same October. PROGRAM ---------- Loveless has a very smooth, controlled voice which can be powerful when need be, but also gentle. Her first track here, "A Handful Of Dust", is a mid-tempo country song about self-worth and good self-esteem. It makes a nice opener for the album. "Halfway Down" is a slightly more uptempo song with another positive message--things may bring you down in life, but if you keep your head up,..
