This is a very good book for parents who have children getting ready to ender Kindergarten. Very detailed about what school is going to teach them and how you can pre-pare them ahead of time.
I love this book because it helps me give my children a good variety of all the basics that a child should have to begin their education. It helps keep me and them stay on track throughout the school year. It has great activities, ideas, and wonderful references to make learning fun. It's a great investment for your childs education.
This book was purchased in order to help my help my grandson in preschool. That I can help him be better prepared for school. I've only had a chance to glance over it at the moment.
i like this book because it gives parents guidelines on what young 5 - 6 year old children needs to be learning. i like that there is included so many poems and stories to read aloud and pictures alongside them. it also teaches how to lay the foundation for history and geography instead of going into teaching blindly and perhaps going way over their heads with too much detail or ignoring it all together thinking they're too young for it. i use this as a reference as i homeschool my younger daughter, to make sure she has the background she needs to be learning kinder things when the time comes.
Came in reasonable time and condition. Don't have anything more to say.yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
This is a great book. I have used it my first month of homeschooling Kindergarten and it has been an awesome help! Highly recommend it to other moms and dads-even those not homeschooling. Easy to read even for those of us not formally trained in education.
I purchased this entire series from Kindergarten to Sixth grade when I started homeschooling my children. 'What your Kindergartener Needs to Know' is filled with information, stories, language arts, science, and math for a child this age.
Not only does it tell you what your child should know, but also, the information is actually contained in this book. I found it convenient to review a portion each week, then present it to the child and finally, go online and print worksheets or find interactive games that support what you have covered.
The only thing that could make this book better is if it were presented in a workbook format with practice pages inserted between each topic. This would be most useful in the math section.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is homeschooling his or her child starting from Kindergarten.
