I bought it because it was recommended by a friend who loves Westerns. I loved the movie. The plot showed the hardships women had to endure in wagon trains and how they had to step up to the plate when men are not the best that they can be. Great movie. Highly recommended!

I bought this tape as a gift for my mother. It is one of her favorite movies. Westward the Women is a nice movie that all the family can watch. It is about a group of women who journey to California by wagon train during the pioneer days and what they went through to get there.

I am not satisfied with the service because as of today's date of March 3, 2008, I have yet to receive my order. According to your records, the order was shipped out to me in January 2008. My mailing address is P O Box 6021, Largo, MD 20792. I submitted an email to your company about 2 weeks ago requesting information on the order and have not received a response for that inquiry.

Had seen this Movie YEARS ago. Liked it that time, I bought it to watch it again. Plus, the Storyline was kind of how it was when this Country was settled.
I personally liked it. I admired the bravery of those women.

I was so happy when I was able to purchase this Title! I remembered watching Westward The Women when I was growing up and loved the way it portrayed women as being strong and capable of anything they set their minds to. I hope that my children will appreciate it as much as I do.

I consider this movie an excellent choice, because this portrayed what it was like in the Old West, trying to go out and forge a new life. The West was wild with Indians and the terrain was tough. I watched this movie several years ago and decided I had to have it. The characters seemed real, and the story showed the ups and downs of tyring to build a new life. You have to have a real love of the West to enjoy this movie.

Westward The Women or Man Seeks SWF For Wife

Pros:
Realistic Scenery, Believable Plot, Entertaining

Cons:
Did not last long enough for me.

This movie should have had the title how the west was won. After all, where would the west be if not for the pioneer women that went before us? One reason this movie was so important in my humble opinion, it showed a side of women that wasn't the norm. Women, even in the west were shown as prim and proper except for the saloon gals that were there for the entertainment of the men. It was a mans world plain and simple. Before WWII women were not considered smart enough or strong enough to be anything other then home makers. When the war started and all of our brave men went to fight, women had.

"We Can Do It" is the Motto of this "Pioneering" Film About Women
Review created: 08/27/01

Pros:
The Women are Strong.

Cons:
The Men Are Going Along for the Ride.

Westward the Women, is a beautiful film because it portrays the American pioneering spirit, ironically, with a cast of mostly non-native-English-speakers. True to our country s heritage, the people who populated America all came from some place else(save our Native Americans). This film gives you a slice of the hardships that rugged immigrants and their native-born progeny had to endure to conquer America s great terrain to help populate the West. Escorted by men out to make a buck, led by Buck (Robert Taylor), a group of women anxious for a new life brave untold hardships to reach their...

Pros:
The title captures the heart of the movie. Women moving westward...to a unknown future.

Cons:
There aren't any, unless you don't like<BR/>women!

Westward the Women is astoundingly realistic with it's many characterizations. Well acted, well directed. This movie should have gotten more attention. Perhaps someday someone will come along and realize exactly what the writer was trying to say! This is the story of the struggles, the hardships, the mayhem, the comedy, the heart of women moving westward. Facing the unknown with courage and dignity, with a wagonmaster that knows how to handle them. Robert Taylor gives a great performance, as do Denise Darcel, John MacIntire, and many, many others. This movie is a tribute to women and...
