Warrior s Woman by Johanna Lindsey is one of the weirdest, trashiest, funniest and worst romance novels that I have ever read. It is also one of my favorites. This book is pure escapism, pure trashy brain candy at it s best. This book is about a romance set in the future-in outer space but the main guy is still a sword carrying barbarian ala Conan style. Believe it or not, the book club to which I belong chose a bodice ripper style romance for our November selection. Warrior s Woman by Johanna Lindsey is a favorite of one member, and she recommended it. Thinking that it would be fun and fluffy, we all went along with it. Fluffy, it definitely is, but fun I think not. The plot of the book attempts to marry elements of science fiction to a bodice ripper formula. Johanna Lindsay has struck pay dirt in this futuristic saga of romance and passion. Not only did she create a heroine worth reading about but she has also created a believable universe, something most science fictions writer struggle with. Her heroine is strong and tough without being overly antagonistic, her hero is sexy and wrongheaded (if that is not a true personification of men, tell me what is). There are no scenes of the damsel in distress rescued by the dashing rogue (he is a rogue but this damsel needs no saving except from herself.) This book is utterly entrancing, taking you beyond.
