We had a very big colection of Walt Disney Cartoons and movies I am talking hundreds. Then we had a house fire we lost all of them so we decided to buy from e-Bay, This was my husband first time shopping on e-Bay it turned out bad and we never got the item .But because of one person we decided not to stop shopping e-Bay but use this as a learning tool in what to look for and to watch out for, We have bought a lot now and have had some really great things there are a lot of wonderful e-Bayers out and so far I have found a lot so we are having fun with our shopping. In our house fire I lost all of my cabbage patch dolls so i have found a lot of great ones. Sometimes they come very dirty but thats ok i clean them and they are fine so over all it is fun.
Excellent movie, I think we watch this cartoon at least once every weekend, worth the price and wait, a great piece of animated history that everyone should own and enjoy
I've wanted this movie forever and was so happy to find it on Ebay!!! It was in good condition and I would definitely buy from this seller again. It has brought a lot of joy into our home and we have loved having it.
This is a great DVD in every way. if you combine this with the "More SIlly Symphonies" volume, you'll have the whole collection. Overall, this DVD contains some of the best that Walt Disney himself has created. I'm very glad to be able to watch these shorts as much as I want to.
My son is Autistic and loves these older Walt Disney DVD's. They are sometimes hard to find and I was thrilled to find this one and receive it in excellent condition. My son is thrilled with it.
I love the Silly Symphonies. Theya re original and artistic. Kids laugh and laugh at these pieces that they have never seen. They are wonderfully redone and original at the same time. I have enjoyed renewing my memories of them.
Walt Disney Treasures: Silly Simphonies-The Historic Musical Animated Classics(2001,DVD) This is a great treasure as are all the rest of the Walt Disney Treasures.I bought my first tresure at BestBuy and it was the Complete Goofy. I was amazed at the clarity and sharpness of these restored cartoons. As a big fan of Walt Disney I'm building a library of cartoons I've shared with my kids and someday my Grandkids. It is to bad that todays kids don't experience at a movie the cartoons we remember seeing before a feature. I mainly bought the Silly Symphonies for interest in some very early cartoon features (i.e. Skeleton Dance 1929). The image on the DVD is very clear and sharp. Looks like it could have been made yesterday. Also Like Leonard Malton into on the series
I bought for me to mainly add to my Walt Disney movie collection. Everthing was great during the bidding and shipping, but when I got it I couldn't play it because it was a region 2 instead of a region 1. Didn't realize it until then.
I was very excited to find this collection! In the Silly Symphony cartoon series, the focus is on music rather than a speaking script; very entertaining and imaginative! I love these old Walt Disney short cartoons. I like them better than the full length classics.
My sister, brother, and I watched some of these cartoons when we were young and I knew I wanted my daughter (age 3) to grow up watching them as well. I don't care for the current cartoons on t.v., so when I want to watch something with her it's always Silly Symphonies.
It's also fun to watch them with my sister and brother and their children. My parents enjoy watching them, too. All in all these cartoons are something everyone can sit down and watch together and everyone will enjoy it! I have actually purchased 2 of these; one for my house and one for everyone to watch at my mom and dad's house.
The only thing I don't like is some of the cartoons are hidden. You have to click on a sword or an egg, etc. That is frustrating because it shows in the insert that the cartoon is on there but then you have to search to find it. I could do without that feature.
My favorites are Music Land and The Skeleton Dance. I remember both of these from when I was young and they are still favorites today. My daughters favorites are...really all of them! I started to type a list but I quickly realized she likes so many of them it would be a long list!
If they ever produce another collection of the Silly Symphonies, there is no question, I will be purchasing that one as well.
I love the old cartoons that were seen in the movie theaters in the 1920's through the 1950's and that was the main reason why I bought this set. This is Walt Disney at his best. The Silly Symphonies was cartoons that was drawn with the music you hear in the background. There is AWESOME cartoons in this set including six oscar winners, such as-The Three Little Pigs,The Ugly Duckling,Country Cousin,The Old Mill,Flowers & Trees and The Tortoise & the Hare. The Old Mill along is great of animals living in a torn and warn mill that is being threaten by a violent storm. One of my favorites is The Skeleton Dance which was the first Silly Symphony ever made. The skeletons awaken at night and play in a cementary. It is black and white. A true masterpiece. You also get Donald Duck in one of his first cartoons in The Wise Little Hen. A great moral is involved in this classic. Be careful in what you sow for it will come back to bite you. Donald was not fully develope yet but you know it is Donald none the last. My favorite cartoon on here is Wynken,Blynken & Nod. You have to see it to believe it. Money well spent. You will not be sorry. I love it. AWESOME is the only word for it.
This is an excellent collection of the Disney cartoons made in the late 1920's and early 1930's that were the "openers" for the then featured movie. My 2 children (ages 2 & 4) LOVE all of the cartoons. They could sit and watch them for hours! I decided to buy this collection because a friend of the family had given us a few Silly Symphonies on VCR tapes (which were several years old) and since my kids loved them so much, I had to buy the whole collection. I highly recommend this DVD.

Pros: terrific collection of cartoons, beautifully restored
Cons: not the entire Silly Symphonies collection
I never realized before viewing the Walt Disney Treasures collection DVD, Silly Symphonies that there were so many cartoons with the Disney name on them which didn t feature the characters I ve come to know and love over the years. Although Pluto appears in a few of the animated short subjects, the vast majority feature characters strictly individual to that particular tale. Silly Symphonies are a series of cartoons which Walt Disney developed at the behest of his music director, Carl Stalling, in which there is no central character. Instead, the music is the central point of the film. Seven..
