Simply Put: The Best Wrestling Game EVER MADE!!!

WWF No Mercy (N64)

The only wrestling game you need!!!

THQ followed up the hit wrestling games WCW vs the World, WCW/NWO Revenge, and WWF Wrestlemani 2000 with this incredible game.

No Mercy offers over 60 characters, 10 arenas, 7 backstage areas, as well as a ton of unlockables.

The Create-a-Wreslter mode is the best I've ever seen. Tons of costumes, body types, and a huge list of wrestling moves makes this CaW simple yet effective.

The gameplay itself is the best I've seen, simple button combos, and the Joystick special makes No Mercy the most enjoyable wrestling game ever made. It's easy enough for children to play, but offers enough of a challenge to keep Adult players satisfied.

Even though I outgrew wrestling, and the PS3 and XBox 360 are now available, I still break out my N64 and play this game monthly.

Pros:

- Awesome Create a Wrestler Mode
- 60+ characters
- Tons of unlockables
- Awesome story modes
- Great graphics
- First Blood Matches

Cons:

- Slowdown issues during 4 player matches
- Climbing out of the cage, or climbing the ladder to get the belt is ridiculous

Final Verdict:

5/5

Rent or Buy: Since I don't think you can rent N64 games anymore this game is a definite buy. I know it's almost 2007, but this is the best wrestling game ever made, and it will probably stand up as the best wrestling game ever made for a long time to come.

Review created: 01/18/08

So the graphics aren't excellent! This game has great superstars of the past, great features, great everything. I higly recommend it to fans who are interested, you will not be disappointed. It's an old game, yeah, but still really fun. It's so cool that it has Lita, Kat and Tori on it. A+++++ game!

In general I love this game. It got really really hard to find so I used ebay. This game is the best wrestling game for the 64 that was made. The only thing that sucks about this game is that there is no Dude Love.

I enjoy this item a lot. It is still as good as it was when it first was released. It is highly customizable and I have been able to update it to reflect some of the characters that are wrestling today. I recommend this highly to anyone who is a fan of Nintendo 64 and/or the WWF/E.

I think today's wrestling games need a serious Mattitude adjustment!

Pros:
Easy to play, great list of moves, realistic animation.

Cons:
The women have weird arms. Slowdown issues for 4 players.

WWF No Mercy was not only THQ's last official wrestling for the then dying N64 but this game is considered by many to be the best wrestling game every made! So why was this game was so great to begin with it? No Mercy features a even better list of non linear story lines, sharper graphics, backstage areas, and even more options than 1999's mega hit WWF Wrestlemania 2000, which already had a decent cult following to begin with. No Mercy may be the top wrestling game ever produced and I am going to tell you why: To get a good idea when WWF No Mercy was released here is the updated roster of new.

Pros:
Cheese! list, lots of options, captures the WWF spirit well

Cons:
Mediocre graphics, confusing controls

Note: A copy of this game was provided by THQ Well, first, I'd like to analyze my own sordid past with wrestling. Yes, when I was younger, I watched it avidly. But I admit a guilty pleasure by still watching homoerotic maneuvers in front of a live audience, taped to edit out the fun stuff. Wrestling is the ultimate guilt inducer. I can't even admit to laughing at it without some guilt. There, I've said it. I hope I can get on with life now. But then this game came along, in it's nice shrink-wrap and pretentious black cartridge casing. I still recall my favorite wrestling game, the old 8-bit...

The second best use of the Revenge engine...right after Revenge itself
Review created: 05/27/01
by: xeno3998 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
The Revenge engine ressurected, nicely modelled arenas, surplus of play modes

Cons:
no commentary, tough to win some matches, little originality

Developer/Publisher: Asmik Ace/THQ ESRB: TEEN MSRP: $59.95 (Amehikken) Difficulty: Moderately challenging Xeno3998's Revised Video Game Rating Scale!!!! Graphics: 8.5 Sound/Music: 7.0 Control: 7.5 Gameplay: 8.0 Ingenuity: 5.5 Entertainment Value: 8.5 Overall: 7.6 / 10.0 WWF No Mercy is the second in a line of THQ WWF games on N64, the first of which being well received Wrestlemania 2000. It takes the old Revenge engine, adds some WWF maneuvers to the basic moves list and touches up some minor aesthetic issues to create the ultimate WWF wrestling experience on the N64. Unless you're not a fan..

Now you can beat people up without getting arrested!
Review created: 11/21/00
by: basilisk4 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Lots of fun, new moves and characters, hardcore match

Cons:
Graphics could be better

Despite the fact that there are a couple more expensive game systems which are graphically superior to the Nintendo N64, they still keep pumping out great games. For many of the great games out for the N64, what they lack in graphics and sound, they make up for in playability and fun. One of the most recent additions to the N64 software library is WWF No Mercy, brought to you by THQ, those masters of wrestling games who seem to put out a new one for some game system or another every few months. Their games have traditionally been fun for taking out one's aggressions in an acceptable way as...

Ladder Match, Pay-Per-View, Cage Match, it has them all !!!
Review created: 05/03/01
by: ace3502 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Endless replay value and excellent sound and graphics.

Cons:
The "Glitch"

This game is a blast to play. You can play the game by yourself or with up to four players, either way you choose you will have fun. The graphics are pretty well done compared to other wrestling games that N64 has put out this one has the best graphics. The types of matches are endless which is only part of the fun. You can do a single match, double match, handicapped match, ladder, tag team, pay per view, and just about any other venue you can think of that WWF has broadcast. These options are played with multi- and single players. The other option you have to play is to go for a...
