We purchased the system with just one additional handset 2.5 years ago. We've had such a good experience with it that we keep adding handsets, purchased through Ebay, because it's discontinued. So far every handset has been as good as new.
For the cost, this seems to be a really nice two line system. I have used this system for awhile and it has perfomed well. With the availabilty to add up to eight phones I know it will continue to grow with me.
I purchased a Vtech VT 2431 base unit that came with 3 VT 2420 handsets. I then purchased 4 more handsets from another seller. All were factory refurbished units. Only 3 of the handsets would find the base unit. The others kept searching for the base no matter which batteries were installed or how many times I programmed the base ID into them. One seller agreed to exchange the handsets, while the other is insisting that I have to send them to THEIR distributor for repair, even though they didn't work right out of the box. Needless to say, I am quite disappointed with their functionality, one of the Ebays sellers response, and frankly, they do not even have the feel of quality merchandise. Maybe I am spoiled because I have had Sony and Panasonic telephones in the past. Vtech is junk in my opinion.
This 2 line phone system is great of a home office. Had to buy another only because my handset finally failed. Now I have two handsets with two lines and it works almost just like an office phone. Two thumbs up from this movie goer.
