At this writing, it is May 2007. Voodoo Lounge is from 1994. Today looking back on this recording of 13 years ago, I have to say that this is a Classic collection of tunes by The Rolling Stones. To me every song holds up even better that when it was realeased.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT THEY WERE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

To quote the band....."TIME IS ON MY SIDE..YES IT IS". The Original British-Bad-Boys of Rock And Roll, re-establish their namesake with the 1994 offering entitled "VOODOO LOUNGE"!! The Senior rock legends spawn not only one, but two top 40 hits along with GRAMMY nominations from this collaboration!!! AS A TRUE FAN, I MEAN NO DISRESPECT WHEN I SAY, IF A DOG TAKES SH*T IN MY BACKYARD THAT REFUSES TO GET HARD AND TURN WHITE, I'M NAMING IT MICK OR KIETH AND SLEEPING WITH IT UNDER MY PILLOW!!!!

 Nice Comeback.
Review created: 09/22/04

Pros:
Lots of really enjoyable songs.

Cons:
A few bad songs.

Voodoo Lounge is known as one of either three things: yet another hopeless album from a band who stopped being relevant two decades before it; the Stones second good album after a comeback with Steel Wheels in 1989 or their first good album since at least Tattoo You, making it the real late-period comeback. Now, I for one still don t agree with the first statement because, yeah, they aren t as great as they used to be but I am really glad that the greatest rock band in the world is still around and kicking. As for it being a comeback, well, I m not sure. Truth is I don t own those mid...

A must-have if you like the Stones' newer stuff.

Pros:
Great music and typically faultless production.

Cons:
Probably not as good as Bridges To Babylon. And it includes three of the worst songs in existence

Voodoo Lounge is an album of two halves. There are some definite high points, and in Out Of Tears the band perform one of their best ballads of all time, but then again the album is also, regrettably, home to three of the worst pieces of dross I've ever heard; that is until I heard Anybody Seen My Baby and Might As Well Get Juiced from Bridges To Babylon. But really, on the whole, as you come to like this album (and you will, eventually), you'll realize it's a must-have. Show-stoppers like Love Is Strong, You Got Me Rocking, Out Of Tears, I Go Wild and Blinded By Rainbows are backed up by a...

the Stones work their magic again
Review created: 07/20/00

Pros:
they are still the defining sound of rock n' roll

Cons:
some weak songs, the cover is hideous

As with any band with as lengthy and impressive a musical history as the Rolling Stones, each new album becomes a subject of heated debate among critics and fans, with one camp quickly proclaiming it an instant classic ( their best since Aftermath/Sticky Fingers/Tattoo You! ) and the other side greeting it with disappointment and disdain ( uninspired rehash and a pathetic attempt to follow the new trend of the hour! ). So which is it with Voodoo Lounge? A bit of both, actually. The Stones have achieved a level of greatness which insures that no platter they put out will be a complete failure,.

 Stones Voodoo Works Again
Review created: 08/05/00
by: saulsbury -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
I have no musical talent, but this all sounds brilliant to me

Cons:
None

I've been debating about the merits of Keith Richards' guitar ability with some youngsters on the 'net. What do they know, listening to Fred Durst and Green Day? Oh, those sad kids, never to read CREEM magazine, or crank up T. Rex. Rolling Stones History, Late Period, 1994. Following a somewhat sterile release, "Steel Wheels," the original bad boys of rock dance back with "Voodoo Lounge" ( Virgin Records, produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins ). Who would have thought that the Rolling Stones could still deliver a hot rockin' CD, as most of the band members were around age 50? Although...
