This Movie is good family fun. The movie is set during World War II, and is based on the carrier pigeons the British actually used during World War II. Valiant our hero in the movie fights and outwits the evil German enemy (sparrow hawk!) to save the day and allow the allies to go ahead with D-Day landings. This movie was very cleverly done, and is good light hearted fun. My 5 yr old loved it and has watched it many, many times.

The problem with "Valiant" is that it doesn't really break any new ground. It's saddled with a strictly by the book "Little guy proves he's got the stuff" storyline. This could've been overcome if the script was a little more lively, the animation a little more creative, the action a touch more compelling. But these areas don't pick up the slack.
There's nothing really wrong with the film, but there's not a whole lot right with it either. While I liked the characters, they never transcended their simple intent (snooty bird, slob bird, battling brothers, evil falcon leader, etc.). And never once did I have the slightest moment of suspense over the outcome. Of course, I knew our hero wasn't going to be killed. That's a given. But usually the unpredictability of the story keeps me involved. Not in this one.
Okay, so I'm not a kid. Our kids liked it. But in this new age of animation, the bar has been raised exceedingly high, and Valiant falls wells short. On the plus side, I thought much of the quieter animation and character design was excellent. Purchasing this to add your dvd collection, you may want to pass this up, and get TOY STORY 2, or either INCREDIBLES (PIXAR), which our kids would repeatly to watch, so you have more time free, if you know what we mean :)

It's okay to be different.My children really enjoyed this movie. It's a cute movie with lessons to learn from it. One of those is "it's okay to be different". Once you see the movie you should realize that it takes all kinds to make the world.

DissapointedAlthough shipping was fast, that was the only good thing about this purchase. Upon opening the case iI noticed the Movie was scratched beyond repair, therefore I now am out the money I paid for this movie. It was not much $ but the title and description painted another picture. Oh well!

Disney's ValientVery cute movie !
Outstanding animation, excellent all star cast of voices !
Showed this to my youth group grades 5-8 and it kept their interest.
My 4 year old enjoyed this at home, loved it !

We have racing pigeons, and I thought the movie would be cute. I like to read about the history of the racing pigeons in any form. The movie was cute and easy to follow. It also opened the door for more study on the subject.

valiantMy three year old loves this movie about world war carrier pigeons.a great cast do the voices and after seeing it enough times to know every word in the movie,i still enjoy watching this one with her. it's also cool that it's about something that actually happened. i would definately recommend it to anyone with little people in the house.

This movie was horrible. My husband and I are like big kids, we LOVE animated movies. We have gone to see cars, nemo, ect. We were excited about going and seeing this movie and afterwards we wish we hadn't! It was slow boring and I can only imagine a kid watching it. I wanted our money back. We couldn't get it back of course but non the less. I wouldn't recommend spending a dime to buy or rent it. Now if someone gave it to you or let you borrow it, it isn't that bad, go ahead and watch it, but if I am going to spend money on something it wouldn't be this!

I'd love to write a review about it, but I have yet to receive it
and it has been a month. The seller won't return any of my emails.
So I think I'm just about of luck and out of the money I paid. Beware

Valiant is a great Family Movie.I first picked up this movie at a rental place. Didn't really know much about it but wanted a movie for family movie night. We were not disappointed. This movie was so much fun. My 5-year old couldn't stop talking about it. We just had to get it. I would highly recommend this movie.

ValiantMy kids wanted this movie and we purchased it from a seller we had purchased before, the price was great and the movie is worth it my youngest one is soon to be 5 and he loved the movie, it talks about team work and the importance of not giving up. Great movie for the whole family.

Great MovieGreat movie for kids and adults. The kids are entertained by the animated adventures of the pigeons. I really liked the movie because it is also entertaining for adults. Set in WWII, the adults will recognize the references to the war and the subtleties to the humor that the kids will miss.

Valiant is excellent!This is a charming little story. I am an adult and now that my children are grown, I don't have to take them to cartoon movies any longer. I thought I was so sick of cartoon movies, I would never watch another one. I absolutely love this movie. There is a lot of humor and adventure in this movie.

It really was a cute movie with a great moral to it. A little bird who others laugh at (classic Disney style) ends up being a bird that helps end World War 2. It was neat the way that Disney incorporated a bit of history and Disney fun into the same movie. My children loved it and so did I. We watched it as a family a couple of times and it is still enjoyable. Highly recomended. A must see.

Our son loves WWII airplanes, etc. So this movie was great for him. It's a little slow of a story, but if your interested in this moment in history (it's not that deep, so it's suitable for children) - - it may be a good choice.
