Your typical First Person Shooter game. (FPS) You run around in multiple arenas to kill all of your enemies (AKA, Bots) as best as possible. There is a decent variety of weapons to use. Most of them are pretty powerful and really cool too. All of them have secondary functions as well, which can be very useful. Most of the arenas are a little small, but they are big enough for good matches no doubt. Unreal Tournament contains 4 different gameplay modes. The first one is Deathmatch, which is where you try to kill the most bots before the others. For example, you have a flag limit of 15, so you have to kill any bot 15 times to win the game. The other gameplay mode, which is more action-packed then Deathmatch, is Domination. In this mode, you and your bot team have to conquer different bases and keep them on hold for as long as possible. But watch out, because your enemy bots can steal your bases. The only other worthy gameplay mode is Capture the Flag, which is your typical catching-the-flag-and-bringing-it-back-to-your-base game. After you beat those 3 modes, you're on to the Challenge mode, which consists of one-on-one battles against certain bots.

After you beat all of these modes and their stages, you're done. But the fun doesn't quite stop there. After beating those modes, you've unlocked a big load of arenas to battle in multiplayer mode. Unreal Tournament is really fun while playing on multiplayer mode for you and your friends. The game also can go online, so you can challenge online users on arenas you unlocked. Up to 8 people can play with each other online. Online, you can also unlock even more arenas for your offline play. After you unlocked everything Unreal Tournament has to offer, you'll have up to 60 arenas! Basically, Unreal Tournament offers great FPS gameplay and certainly offers a good amount of unlockables to keep you playing.

  Average FPS

This game is you average pre-dual anolog controler shooter game. Decencent grappics, the controls can be pretty clean with a little tweaking though. I would've ranked this game a little higher if the maps were a little lager. but they make up for the small maps with HUGE quanity. tons, and tons of maps. only 10 weapons, but each weapon has two different fire modes. overall average fps game, not quite up to par with the other single analog games like Goldeneye or The World Is Not Enough for n-64 {which are a little older,even}

Pros:
Over 60 levels, 4 great gametypes, 10 cool weapons, blowing apart bodies...

Cons:
Some flaws with the control, cut out swears and female characters

I had never really played first person shooters much before Halo, so when I got Dreamcast, I never bothered with games like Quake 3 and Unreal. A few months ago I was looking at DC games at FYE when I seen this for $10. I bought it just to have a FPS besides Halo. Now that I have finally decided to start playing it, I love it. While it doesn't have a story mode or lots of game types, it does have over 60 levels, about 10 weapons and one hell of a multiplayer. You'll find yourself having alot of fun whether your playing alone or with some people. Gameplay Unreal Tournament has no story mode...

Pros:
Great modes, weapons, levels, lots of blood

Cons:
Unbalanced difficulty, controller options, lack of polish<BR/>

Intro: The Dreamcast hit it big when Quake III was released. It was a huge game for Seganet, as well as for the Dreamcast owners. The announcement of Unreal Tournament (UT) was no surprise, seeing that Quake III (Q3) was doing so well. I m not into PC games, but I did have a chance to play UT for the PC a couple times. From then on, I knew I had to get UT for Dreamcast. I was getting tired of Q3, and I needed a change. Gameplay: For those of you that don t know, UT is a first person shooter (meaning you play the game through the character s eyes). You are pitted in arenas and your main...

Pros:
great graphics, good clean fun, broad band adapter, good amount of levels

Cons:
AI isn't tough enough, no map editor, control isn't as good as on the pc

Epinions finally added the Dreamcast version of UT. I figured it'd be cool if I moved my review to te correct catagory. I m not a PC gamer, I never have been. The main reason is that when I get a computer I keep it for a few years so the technology becomes outdated and can t handle the newest games. And I like console gaming because you can sit back on the couch or easy chair and chill out. Because I ve never really been into console gaming I haven t really been exposed to too many 1st person shooters. Sure, I played the classic Goldeneye for N64, but other than that I ve never really gotten..

Pros:
Excellent Graphics, Good Weapon Selection, Interesting Sound Affects

Cons:
Too Easy, No friends=No replay value

Matt is not a 3rd generation gamer, but he has strong opinions about his video games. Excellent game, but it's too easy. If you don't have a lot of friends to play against this game doesn't have a lot of replay value. I think the title of this game is very appropriate. It is meant to be a tournament type multi-player and that is about it. Single Player Value The most disspointing part of this game is that the single player mode is so WEAK. I was able to be the Skilled Level tournament the second time I played it. I beat the whole tournament in about 2 hours. I was never killed more than 7...

Pros:
Loads Of Fun, Multiplayer Mode

Cons:
Weird Controls, Not Very Creative

The Playstation 2 desperately needed a few solid games to get it over the hump. The head honchos at Sony had a precious few games they could depend on to get them through the lean first few months before the killer games started to hit the shelf; Madden 2001 was guaranteed to be good, SSX was a surprise hit, but what else? What else could this new, virginal system depend on to keep fans happy until the powerhouses arrived? Two gaming genres that can always be leaned on to deliver a solid hit are the dumb shooting game or the dumb fighting game. Neither usually have much in the way of...
