Uniden TRU8885-3 5.8 GHz Trio 1-Line Cordless Phone

We have had this phone for quite some time and we all love the features. I just ordered several more handsets to put all over the house. The reason for doing so is the features where you can use it to call other handsets which has saved us a lot of yelling from other rooms. Also, you can put it on hold, contact another handset and the other person can get the call. We have a four-level house so you can imagine how handy that feature is.

You can listen to messages as they are being left to determine whether you would like to pick up or not. It can be used as a monitor for another room. You can easily tell if there are messages as each handset blinks with a red light.

Up to ten handsets can be used with one system. When I recently got our 2 that I had just ordered (on eBay of course!) it was very easy to set them up to use with our current system. My boys love that you can "name" them so we have Panda, Wolf, Parents, Kitchen, etc. Makes it fun!

The only problem my husband and I have is reading the buttons. There are so many on the base unit and they are tiny on the handset. In our advanced old age our eyes aren't quite what they used to be and we have a hard time reading the buttons. And there are SO many features that it takes quite awhile to learn then all. The book is a challenge to get through!

Otherwise we are very happy with the unit. We have had many cordless phones in the past and this one is definitely the best.

One of the phones does not work right. It loses the signal 5 feet from the base, and there is no contact number to return the defective phone. I would not buy another thing from this vendor.

What I like about this phone is that it is easy to read, the buttons are easy to push and I especially love the "do not disturb button"! One thing I didn't like is that because I didn't need the built in answering machine, the indicator light doesn't flash to let me know I had a call so I have to check it a few times a day. I am very pleased with the phone over all.

The phones are great! They have met my expectations completely. The company that I bought them from delivered, too! They mailed them promptly and fulfilled their obligations completely.

My fav feature is the DND button. You press the button and do not hear a ring, beep, click, NOTHING. WHen you get a msg it lights up. SO easy.
Also easy to program numbers into and such. Never even read the instructions, just went to town using it. It also doubles as my baby monitor.

Love these phones. The speakerphone works great and the convenience of having so many is wonderful.

I needed several room phones with intercom and speakerphone. One of the intercoms did not work and the base unit speakerphone had a short in it at times, when I tried to use it. I notified the seller of this and he told me to return it finally after many correspondences with I have copies of. Also, i did not receive one of the battery packs for one of the phones. When I returned it, he sent me an email and told me that a Floridian had been taken by a Texan. I think I was the one taken, as I WAS NOT CREDITED FOR THE 15.00 ORIGINAL MAILING FEE PLUS IT COST ME OVER 9 DOLLARS TO RETURN THE ITEM. SO, I WAS OUT ALMOST 25 DOLLARS FOR A BAD PHONE SYSTEM OF WHICH I RECEIVED NOTHING!!!!

Item was good and working excellent. Just that it has a very minor scratch which I don't mind. Other than that everything is good.

Where can I order 2 more handsets for the TRU8885 for cheap... perhaps $10 each? We have the TRU8885-2 unit but want 2 more handsets.
