  Hooked

I remember sitting in class reading from our textbooks when I saw that a girl had placed another novel inside her text and was reading that instead. It was a pretty good sized novel, and I became instantly curious what book had her hooked. I leaned over to see if I could read the title. She noticed at once. She smiled and hastily scribbled the title and author of the book down on a piece of paper and handed it to me.
Without even knowing what the book was about, I made my next stop the library. I found the book and flipped it over to read the summary. I was disappointed to learn that it was about vampires. I was not into this mumbo jumbo...For some reason, I checked it out anyway, and I have to say that IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I EVER DID! I have read the two sequels to Twilight, and anxiously await "Breaking Dawn" as well as the full-length featured film!

Stephenie Meyer is one of the many people who happen to have written a book; c'mon, who hasn't? Meyer, however, stands out in her own litle world very much like J.K. Rowling with her Harry Potter series, and as you read on in this, you'll see why. (If you see 'SPOILER' written anywhere, don't read if you don't want to hear parts of the book that haven't already been mentioned in reviews online.)

The book Twilight, the story jumps right into the tale of Bella Swan, formally known as Isabella Swan, a girl who has divorced parents, and is off from her sunny Jacksonville home in Florida to live with her father in Forks, Washington, where as she puts it, 'the rain never stops'. The dreary agreement to move in with her father was due to the fact that Bella did not want to strain her mother's new marriage to her new husband, who was trying to kick off his basketball career.

Bella, like any person moving to another place and attending a new school, starts off like and normal real person would; she meets people, drives to school, and like every girl, catches the sight of the cutest boy in school, Edward Cullen. Everyone tells Bella the same tale; they know little to nothing about dear Edward, except that he never comes to school on sunny days. Oh- that, and he's deathly beautiful.

Bella, determined to figure out what exactly Edward is, litterally places her neck on the line and avoids death one too many times in Forks, where she is known mostly as a 'danger magnet'. Her father, the police chief, keeps an eye on his high school daughter quite frequently. Eventually it gets to a point where you'll catch on that these two are the today fantasy version of Romeo and Juliet...without the deadly ending. For now.

-SPOILER-

As Bella follows along after Edward, their relationship grows more closer, more intimate, until Edward cannot keep himself away from Bella and says, "I'm tired of trying to stay away from you."

-END OF SPOILER-

The best part of this book was that it was so real, you had to wonder frequently if it really was real. Forks is an actual place in Washington, as so is Jacksonville. The line between real and fake in the book it so murky you don't care- you just want to read more and pray it never ends.

But dont't worry, the sequel, New Moon, gets better too.

I loved this book. I found I couldn't put it down. The writer really did well on expressing Bella's thoughts throughout the story. You were always wondering what was going to happen next. It was such a beautiful blend of how I truly thought at seventeen and the paranormal world of vampires. Meyer truly takes vampires and makes them her own in this story. For anyone who ever had a high school crush, never quite fit in, or just love vampires, I think this is a book you'd truly enjoy.

I have become a big fan of Ebay the items are dispalyed the way you can pick and choose or bid against another buyer. Ebay has become an essential part of my life instead of wondering around from store to store trying to find what I need and not finding it. Ebay places anything a person needs right in front of them and there are times you can just buy what you need right out or place a bid on the product. I also like the fact that I can pay for my items thru PayPal and have the items delivered right to my door. This is the way of the future and Ebay is leading the way with an array of items that are just unbeleivable. As you can see by my letter I'm really impressed with Ebay and look forward to my next purchase.

Thank You1

{deep breath} I'm a 37 year old woman and I'm in love with a vampire. There, I said it. I LOVE this book (the whole series). It's written for "young adults" but anyone with a passion for a good love story will enjoy this. I'm actually rereading it again already. Something I've never done before!

  A Must Read Great Books
Review created: 05/01/08

This book is great for all ages! I have noticed many people saying that these books are for teenagers. My 14 yr old niece got me to read these books and I found I couldn't put them down. Since then I have loaned them to my friends and they say the same thing "I need the next book" The five of us that have now read them that are not teenagers are ages 40 - 55 and we can't wait for "Breaking Dawn" to come out in Aug. The movie hopefully in Dec. 2008 and then the story all over again as seen from Edward's perspective "Midnight Sun".

  Twilight Book Review! GREAT READ!
Review created: 04/13/08

I bought this book for my daughter's Honors English Class. I was bored and decided to pick it up and look at it. It is a GREAT book! She has to turn it in at the end of this semester, so I'm trying my best to finish it. It is about a teenager that accidently falls in love with a vampire! It's very intriging, and will grab you from the start. I would reccomend this book!

I'm a sucker (no pun intended) for a good romance. This book was a very fun read. My book club enjoyed Twilight very much, but thought that Bella was a little to psychotic in the second book. I enjoyed how Stephanie Meyer defined the lives of vampires. It was intriguing, and I couldn't put it down!

  Twilight Spawns Daylight on Relationships!
Review created: 04/06/08

I absolutely love this story. It is a vampire-human romance, without all the blood and gore. Eloquently and very tastefully written, it is a refreshing twist to the whole vampire genre. Although there is romance, there are no down-and-dirty sex scenes and there is no harsh language. Stephenie Meyer should be commended for what she is doing for relationships between bored housewives and their husbands. I'm telling you, I fell in love with the characters and found myself falling in love with my husband all over again. I think Stephenie has captured the essence of true, genuine love and wrapped it up in a nice little package of 500 pages. There is absolutely NO REASON what-so-ever to not recommend this book, no matter your gender. My husband isn't (and never has been) a reader. After deducing that this book was the reason for my renewed passion, he read it too...and is darn proud of himself! it's a must-read!

I heard Whoopie Goldberg talking about this book on the view and then another guest came on and said that she was reading it so I knew it must be good. That is an understatement. I have not been able to put it down. I have already ordered the second one and can't wait to start reading it. The best book I have ever read. I don't know why they say it is for teeangers. I'm 54 and LOVE it. Now I see why it was on the New York Times Bestseller list.

Review created: 04/05/08

I needed to read something that captured my interest right off the bad and that is exactly what Twilight did. I started reading it and couldn't put it down!

The characters are developed really well and the story touches the heart.

I couldn't have asked for anything better to read! (I finished the 600ish page book in 12 hours)

  Twilight is excellent!

I had heard about this book for over a year, but kept forgetting the title and who wrote it. I just kept hearing about the "vampire series". It didn't interest me right off because vampires just aren't "my type" of subject. But, I took a chance and bought the book and loved it. I've since bought the other two and pre-ordered the final. This is a great series. Well written and very intriging!

Don't judge a book by it's cover, I learned my lesson
Review created: 02/07/08

I wanted to badly to hate this book, and actually bought it to try to prove myself right. I saw it at Wal Mart week after week and knew nothing about it or the seires it belonged to. I saw an interview with Stephenie Meyer and only heard bits and pieces, basically enough to learn that this was a book about vampirs and ended up even more turned off by the series. I bought the book, expecting, and hoping to hate it, and after finishing the book in one sitting I couldn't get enough. This book is excellent. I'm not a lover of romance books, or typically anything that deals with fictional characters such as vampires, warewolves, aleins....., but this book proved me wrong in so many ways. Now I'm having trouble trying to find a book that even slightly compares to the brilliance of this one. I'm also counting down the days until Aug 2 when the fourth book in this series finally comes out.

I'd borrowed a friend's copy and had to have my own. The story takes you far beyond any book I've ever read and I couldn't put it down until I had finished it, an then read it again. I love Edward!
