  Fantastic - for longtime fans

Love it - has old Bruce songs that are remniscient of tthe Asbury park days - some of the songs are not as good as others, but it's so interesting to hear old stuff, and to even hear an audition tape! Lots of bar-type songs like, Give the Girl A Kiss, and then some of his usual thoughtful, slower stuff - love it!

  Great addition to Music Collection
Review created: 01/10/08

This 4 cd set is all great. Maybe not the most well known songs but all the songs on this cd are terrific. Any Springsteen fan needs to have this box set in their collection. Thundercrack, Good man is hard to find, and Man at the Top are my favorites.

Great journey along the Boss' "Tracks"
Review created: 02/25/07
by:

This compilation covers three decades of the musical journey of Bruce Springsteen, and each track is golden, the common and well-known as well as
the obscure and little-heard. Any Springsteen fan will find something about this collection to attract them, and it is a definite must for any die-hard.

Springsteen's rejects better than most artists choice songs.
Review created: 05/02/00

Pros:
Facinating glimpse at artists development, long time concert favorites finally available to the public, there's enough here to keep even the most die hard fans busy for months, enclosed booklet is a treat

Cons:
production is sketchy ranging from homemade demo quality to studio production, some songs should have remained rejects,

For years a black market has existed for Springsteen bootlegs of which many where the famous marathon concert shows that he has become famous for, but more interestingly a great deal of these boots where made up of outtakes from one of Bruce s official releases. Unlike most other artists Springsteen rejected worthy material for the sake of artistic vision, often leaving excellent songs off of an album because they were inconsistent with the overall them of that particular release. Bruce would often present 60 - 70 songs to the E-Street band for rehearsal during an albums session only to...

Perfect for the fan who has everything

Pros:
Anything Springsteen is a 'Pro'

Cons:
Not for the novice fan

Well I'll admit I am a Bruce Springsteen fan(atic). I have all of his released material. I buy each new release the day it comes out. And well... I love all of his music... some a little more than others. So I may be a little prejudiced, but I loved this set. Of course I would have preferred a larger selection. Four disks with 66 songs was pretty great though. My favorite selection on the set is 'Back in Your Arms' on disk 4. It is such a deep, moving song. I was hoping to see him perform this song live on his current tour, but he really played limited Tracks material. I also really enjoy the.

Tracks: 66 Songs (an' still not enough)

Pros:
Four fistfulls of Bruce, much of which you've never heard

Cons:
Four times the price

I can't think of a single release in the fall of 1998 that got me as excited as this one. Imagine it: a big Springsteen fan like myself having 66 "new" tracks dumped on my lap (after dumping a hefty 80 dollars down for it). Admittedly, the tracks weren't "new, new", but since I hadn't heard them before, it was quite the trip. The four disks travel in a chronological order, following Bruce's career from "Greetings from Asbury Park," all the way through "Ghost of Tom Joad". The first five tracks on disk 1 are all alternate tracks from the former album, which was a little disappointing; however,.

Pros:
Great Previously Unreleased Material

Cons:
Cost

For Springsteen fans worldwide, Tracks is what we have been waiting for. This 4-cd boxset is a compilation of previously unreleased songs and studio outtakes of some of Bruce's best. Tracks is released just in time for Springsteen to hit the road with a rededication tour that reunites The Boss with his long-time pals and musicians, The E-Street Band. Many of the material has already been heard in the live format. Fans have been waiting for years to have songs like "Rendezvous", and "Part Man, Part Monkey" to be released. Sprigsteen finally dipped down into his vault and gave fans what they...

  Always waited for that

Pros:
great material of the 70's and 80's

Cons:
the early 90's songs

For more than ten years, I've been waiting for Mr. Springsteen to release a record like that. I love his music and his cinematic lyrics but once I heard "My love will not let you down" on a bootleg and from that day on I wanted to have this song in a better sound-quality. One year ago, I walked into a record-store and saw this new box-set and there it really was. My dreams came true, one of the best songs ever released after a long sleep. As anyone who knows Springsteens music, it was clear, that a new release should lead to a worldwide tour, I now was looking forward to see the E-Street Band.
