Tomart's Price Guide to Hot Wheels Collectibles by Mike Strauss (2002)

I really like this guide and comparing it with that of current pricing guides, like the magazine "Toy Cars & Models" it helps to see where the industry is coming from and where it is headed! I whised that this publisher and or author would update every two to three years, there are a lot of new cars out there and prices are going through the roof, therefore, it would be nice to see more updated editions coming out to keep current. If I could I would write my own series of Price guides, but with two full time business, full time employment as a Teacher and a 7 month old son (my 1st today is Dec. 22, 2005) that's not going to happen!!! This guide is pretty useful, it's all I used for the most of all my purchased on Ebay in the beginning, it is worn out and falling apart so I hope they print a newer version soon.

If you haven't seen this guide let me describe it: There are 208 pages, many color photos and plenty of listings of many Hot Wheels cars produced beginning in 1968-2002 They list all the years of cars entry to the market date and many detailed features like color variations, wheels styles and special markings or tampos! I really liked this publication for the fact that for the novice, you get lots of important information with out any confusion. One thing a novice had to keep in mind is, that the information is a little outdated as of 2005-2006, therfore I'd wait for a more recent publication to come out, however if your just curious what cars are or were running this is a very helpful guide I highly recommend it! AAA+

Lastly, I just want to also mention they include a nice little blurb on the history of Hot Wheels and the company and it is very interesting. There is a very useful index in the back of the book that allows the user to look up a car in an instant. The only draw back is sometimes when years are used like 57 Chevy, sometimes some of the variations aren't listed in the Number section so you need to look in the Name Chevy section, other wise I give this Tomart's Price Guide to Hot Wheels Collectibles by Mike Strauss a 4 1/2 rating out of 5 or 4 1/2 stars out of 5!!! A must buy for all collectors for sure.
