For any major chart geeks out there, you know that nowadays a record lives and dies by its debut position and sales week. That doesn't speak badly about the buying public, though; everyone who's dying for a record gets it the first week out (pure anticipation) and as less and less people see the urge to buy a record, sales normally plummet 50% or so the second week out, especially on heavily hyped chart toppers. Recent huge records from Jason Mraz, Norah Jones, John Mayer and Los Lonely Boys are some exceptions to this rule, as it was normally 10-20 weeks before they peaked out in both...
