It is funny and enjoyable for everyone. It has a lot of stars in it. A lot of who's gonna get it in the end.

  Hilarious movie! Great cast!

I saw this movie a few years ago with my husband, and it was one we both loved. (We're your typical chick flick vs. action couple.) It has a great cast, with stars everyone loves, and the laughs never seem to stop. Just an all-around chuckle-fest.

Having seen the chopped up version on Dish Network I decided to buy the movie to see it the way it was intended to be seen. I was not dissappointed.

The movie was very funny the reason I got it is because we initially saw it on vhs but when we decided to get it on dvd it was'nt around,so I looked for it on ebay and found it,watching it again was better this time around especially with extra features and watching it on wide screen,I would recomend it for anyone that likes not only verbal comedy but also the physical part its very funny.

Matthew Perry Makes Friends With the Mob
Review created: 08/12/00
by: Grouch -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Amanda Peet, Natasha Henstridge and Kevin Pollak spice up the supporting cast

Cons:
The leads--Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis--drag it down. And don't EVEN get me started on Rosanna Arquette!

In the middle-of-the-road comedy The Whole Nine Yards, Matthew Perry gets the kind of role that would have gone to Jack Lemmon in his heyday (back when he was a Testy Young Man). Watching this fish-out-of-water (or, dentist-in-gangland, if you will) story, I couldn t help picturing fresh-faced Jack going around stammering and wincing as the movie s main character (a dentist) gets a new neighbor (a mobster). What this film really needs is that angsty Everyman character that became Lemmon s hallmark. Perry is no Lemmon on the other hand, he s also no lemon. As a hen-pecked dentist who gets...

You'll Be On Your Toes For The Whole Nine Yards
Review created: 08/31/00

Pros:
funny, keeps you on your toes

Cons:
nudity, murder taken lightly

My husband and I love to watch movies. We don t get to the theaters as often as we would like, but we do rent videos quite often. We are both particularly fond of comedies, and always on the lookout for something to make us laugh. Somehow, I had missed the commercials when The Whole Nine Yards was in the theaters, because when it came out on video I knew absolutely nothing about it. The first thing that attracted me to this movie was its cover, as it showed Mathew Perry. I love him on the television show Friends and in the movie Fools Rush In, so I am very familiar with how good a comedic...

  Slapstick Mobster Comedy?
Review created: 02/19/00
by: phungus-- a member of Epinions and Top Reviewer in Movies

Pros:
Good cast, pretty funny

Cons:
Lots of absurdity, too much slapstick

The Whole Nine Yards was better the first time...when it was called 'Analyze This'. However, it has plenty of laughs and some neat plot twists that will help you get over some of the absurdity that goes on in this movie. Set in Canada, Matthew Perry stars as a mild-mannered dentist. His wife (Rosanna Arquette) is a total you-know-what with a french accent much like the frenchmen in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. His father-in-law, also a dentist, built up a good bit of debt before he died, and now his daughter and son-in-law are forced to pay it off. Therefore, they are a little tight on...

"I don't know anything about Chicago..."
Review created: 02/18/01
by: mellkinwa -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Amanda Peet, lots of plot twists

Cons:
some bad casting, some humor not so humorous

The Whole Nine Yards (2000) rated PG-13 98 minutes Stars Amanda Peet (Jill), Bruce Willis (Jimmy "the Tulip" Tudeski), Mathew Perry (Oz Oseransky), Roseanna Arquette (Sophie), Natasha Henstridge (Cynthia), Kevin Pollak (Janni Gogolack) Oz is a dentist in an unhappy marriage. His wife, Sophie, harps on him constantly about money. She married him to get him to pay off her fathers gambling debts and judgments. His life gets turned upside down when he discovers his new neighbor is a mobster hiding out from the Hungarian Mobster Janni Gogolack. When Sophie finds out the neighbor is Jimmy "the...

Whole Nine Yards; Dentist, The Menace
Review created: 05/26/00
by: vandyke -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Slapstick comedy with funny plot. Very charming.

Cons:
Rosanna Arquette is not up to the same level of comedic talent as the others in this film.

This movie was fun! All the way. Honest. Truly, madly, deeply. I swear to Heaven's Gate. It wasn't perfect but I laughed at this bit of farcical fluff from director, Jonathan Lynn (Clue, Nuns On The Run, My Cousin Vinny, Greedy, Sgt. Bilko, Trial and Error). And I meant it! Drilling For Comedy For those who don't know, the plot concerns itself with a dentist who acquires a mobster neighbor. Both have people (for various reasons) who want to have them each killed. Comedy ensues when the dentist, played by the affable, lovable lunk Matthew Perry; and the mobster, played by affable, lovable lunk.
