For service members and their spouses this show may hit too close to home; which may make it difficult to watch. The great thing about this show is that it shows both sides of military life - those of the service member and those of the spouses/families left behind. The show also portrays military families as just as involved - support wise / behind the scenes.
It has great action, and shows the heroism of military members in a positive light. It realistically comaderie and fellowship that exists in a cohesive military unit. Especially in a unit that faces life or death on every mission that they go on.
I love the unit and they took it off air and to watch the stream online it keeps stopping and you have to start from the begining so I turned to ebay and low and behold they had a copy of season 1. BRAND New!! I bought it and have watched it. Thanks Ebay!!!
The show is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT THE UNIT SEASON 1, LIKE SHOW A LOT, GOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM SELLER. SEASON WAS A LITTLE TOO SHORT, ALSO PURCHASE SEASON 2 ELSEWHERE, WAITING FOR SEASON 3 TO COME OUT.
I really enjoy shows about the military. This is top notch entertainment. Good balance of men at work and women holding down the fort. I hope this show is around for quite a while.
Bought new, everything was fine. I like "The Unit" a lot but missed most of the first season. It was nice to see how the characters developed. Thank you.
This is a great tv show. I hope they will release season 3. The series is action packed and the acting is great. The softer side story with the wives is also very well done
This is an excellent TV series and i've enjoyed it completely. To me it reflects closely with real special ops. I have both season 1 and 2 and will purchase season 3 when it comes out.
This was such a great deal! Thank you so much! It's a great product! I can't wait to watch..The cover was in excellent condition. The packaging was great, shipping may have taken a while but the distance that it was coming from, it's acceptable.
I have been trying to watch the series on the T.V. but as things came up I have missed a few. Now that I own the series the show has really been great to watch. The story line is easier to follow and a huge bonus is NO COMMERCIALS!! This has been great. I have picked up on a few things I missed back when I viewed it on the T.V.
My mother drew me into watching The Unit on television. Well, I am hooked. When I found Season 1 on ebay, I didn't hesitate to bid on it. It made a wonderful family Christmas gift. My mom and I watched the DVDs over a week and had a ball. I love not having to fast forward through commercials. This series is awesome. I've been telling everyone about it. Season 2 will make its way to my home soon. Looking forward to season 3 coming to ebay! I love THE UNIT!
Received this item in a very timely fashion, just as described. Will buy from this seller again. Item came packaged great and no damage. Dvd is awesome. Love the series. Can't wait to see if the same seller will have the next season available. Have added seller to my favorite list.
The only bad thing about this series is that you don't get to see the usual 22 episodes-only 13. Dennis Haysbert, who is best known for his role in "24" heads a fantastic ensemble cast. Thrilling, action packed! If there is a bad critique, it is that there are only 13 episodes-way too short. A little bid like "24' , though not as violent. Stories about special (forces)action groups and their family lifes. Great entertainment.
The show is real and so close to SpecOps its uncanny. Fantastic show! Shame it is not on more evenings than it is. Many of the Military buffs really enjoy this type of show. The actors are great and their wives set it off with their problems - just like in real life.
I failed to watch this TV series when it initially came on but my wife did. I chanced to watch one episode and when I saw that Eric Haney was the technical advisor, I had to have the Season 1 DVD. I saw Eric Haney on the O'Reilly Factor and was very impressed. I have since ordered and read his book "Inside the Delta Force". Each episode is very engrossing and I will be ordering the season 2 DVD shortly.
The Unit is simply a great show. Dennis Haysbert is Snake Doctor. It's rare to see an actor and a character completely fuse. I am interested in all the characters, and the number of unresolved issues. It really is refreshing to watch the storylines regenerate, sometimes after six or seven episodes. Although the production quality in season one seems lower than in season two, it remains an interesting show on many levels. This is a show that can satisfy many viewer needs. Action, Adventure, Drama, Romance. There is a little of all those elements entwined in each episode along with a strong dose of reality, not necessarily within the plots, but instead with the struggles each character faces. Worth the time and money spent!
plotlines are nice...even has something for the ladies (military wife life)...the missions are well thought/acted out...not too much of the stormtrooper effect
I have a problem with this show. On the one hand, its depiction of the military operations of the Delta-type unit is incredible. Super accurate, it captures the mode of operation, the ethos and culture, and the very spirit of this small, select force. The action is tense, well-paced, and totally convincing. I think that part of the show is the best I've ever seen on TV. But then you have the other half of the show: the gals on the homefront. I understand that you have to have something to interest the other half of the family, but the soap opera part of the show just doesn't ring true. The CO of the unit having an affair with the wife of one of his troops? Unbelievable schlock. And the unfortunate cutting back and forth between the two story lines really detracts from the momentum and energy of the best part of the show: the action sequences. It's too bad the producers couldn't have just stuck to the Delta operations. As it is, I tape the shows and edit out the soap opera -- what remains is truly great TV.
