The Ugly Dachshund (2004, DVD)

My son recently saved a Great Dane puppy from the animal shelter. I happened to remember a movie from the 60s about a Great Dane called the Ugly Dachshund so I purchased it from E-Bay for him. When we watched the movie, we were shocked to see how much things have changed. Suzanne Pleshette was so young and beautiful. The part she played was so silly. The background things were more fun than the plot or the performances. The old fashioned suburbs, the in-home parties, the furnishings, etc. Notice the breakfast she serves her husband, the twin beds they sleep in, the silly pj's, the makeup and hair styles. The movie itself is slapstick and the animals and trainers were great. This is a classic for anyone who loves dogs.

movie came quickly no problems, was bought for a friend they love it. Have this movie already it's enjoyable so I thought it would be a great gift for others to enjoy

I was raised on the disney channel-and they played this movie frequently! ive been looking for it on DVD for a while and finally found it on ebay! Its a very cute story- perfect for any dog lover! especially Doxie lovers!=o)

This is the sweetest movie! Its a good, clean, funny family comedy. This is an old movie that I caught the last part of and decided to rent it. Now I want it for my collection! I highly recommend this movie!

I fondly remembered this movie from childhood when I had seen it on TV recently. I ordered one for my daughter's birthday and one for my niece's birthday, and they both love it!

What makes this such a good family movie is that it is clean - absent of even the references and sarcasm in so many "family" movies today. It is also funny, especially to children, as the dogs find themselves in hilarious predicaments which cause much distress to their owners. It's one of those Walt Disney treasures I'm glad we own.

Being dachshund owners and animal lovers we thoroughly enjoyed this movie! It was pure Disney, clean and wholesome. Parents or grandparents can let the children watch this one, worry-free entertainment!

Loved this film when it first came out in the theater. Enjoyed it again when it was released on VHS. Now I finally got it in DVD. Absolutely love the Dean Jones/Suzanne Pleshette team, and Dean Jones is always great comedic fun when he's in films that involve animals. A good laugh when one needs a break from all of the reality TV.

I bought the movie because my husband was always talking about this movie that he had seen as a child and he could not believe that I had never even heard of it. A friend found it on Netflix and rented it for us and when we watched it it was hilarious!! So, as a surprise gift for my hubby I decided to try to find it on Ebay. It was wonderful to find it brand new and still in the packaging.

I love this movie. If you love dogs this is a great movie. It has weenie dogs and a great dane. I have always loved great danes and recently got one so I figured I needed the movie.

This was one of the old Disney Classics. The way movies used to be made and should still be today. Dean Jones was a great actor in all the old Disney movies. I wanted to get it to watch with my kids so we could watch a real family oriented movie for once. They loved it. Anything with animals in it kids are sure to love.

If you like WHOLESOME family entertainment, The Ugly Dachshund is a must-see! It's a little long (OK I had to use at least one wiener dog pun) but a very, very funny movie! Semi-spoiler alert! the police officer chased up a tree by "one of the dachsunds" is a very, very timeless moment in cinematography!

LOVE GOOD OLD FASHION DISNEY FAMILY MOVIES. IT'S LIKE WHEN I WAS A KID ON SUNDAY NIGHTS WITH A BOWL OF POPCORN AND WATCHING "THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY". NO VIOLENCE, SEX OR DRUGS JUST PLAIN GOOD OLD FASHION FUN AND LAUGHTER WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY. YEAH THEY WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS. THIS MOVIE WAS AS ENJOYABLE TODAY AS IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW IT FORTY YEARS AGO OR SO. I APPLAUD DISNEY OR WHOMEVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING THESE OLD MOVIES ON VHS AND DVD'S. MORE OF THESE MOVIES OUGHT TO BE AIRED TODAY AND SHOW LESS FILTH. WE WOULD BE A BETTER WORLD FOR IT.

My entire family enjoyed this movie, from my 3 year old son up to my 19 year old daughter. It is very funny, witty and is full of pleasant surprises. I would highly recommend this to any one, young or old!

Good clean fun!!! Bought movie because I remember from childhood and I have a dachshund and a great dane. Thought my grandkids would enjoy watching this as much as I did.

This is a very funny movie. I have a Fawn Great Dane and one of her doggy friends is a dachshund. I think one of the funniest scenes is in the art studio. What a mess. I used to have this on VHS and It is much nicer on DVD.

I absolutely love this movie and have since I was a child. It is adorable, good clean family fun. There should be more movies like this one.

I have looked all over the internet for this movie last time I saw it I was a little kid at the drive inn and it's allot funnier than I remember . If you like old Disney movies you'll love this one.

This is a delightful hard to find family Disney movie. I rented it recently for my wife and she wanted to keep it so I assured her I would buy her one.

I REMEMBER SEEING THIS MOVIE WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND LOVING IT. THE THOUGHT OF A HUGE GREAT DANE AND A SOME VERY LITTLE DACHSHUNDS COHABITATING TOGETHER IN THE SAME HOUSE IS A GREAT RECIPE FOR A MOVIE FILLED WITH A LOT OF LAUGHS AND MEYHEM. IF YOU'RE A DOG LOVER OR HAVE ONE OR BOTH OF THESE BREEDS YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE IT!

It was a childhood favorite and I wanted to share the movie with my Grand Children, as well as my Adult Children. They love the movie as much as I do. The day it arrived in the mail I was out of town. That was at least a month ago. I have yet to see the movie myself, because my Children watch it over and over with their Children. It has brought smiles and laughter to my Children and Grandchildren...
