I first heard of this book while doing researching DIY resources for building a simple and inexpensive wood bow that I could use with my sons. It was highly recomended by my experienced Boweryers. I figured I would give a look thinking I would find a bunch of technical information that only a rocket scientist would find useful. I was very happy to be completely wrong. This book does have andavanced information but the majority of it is in laymans terms. This book is combines the knowledge and experience of many skilled bowmakers. It is a great source of information for history as well as step by step instruction for building working bows and arrows. It is ideal for the average home craftsman and utilizes natural materials and simple techniques in the constrcution process. Most materials are inexpensive and available at a store like Home Depot. The process described is simple enough to include your kids "help". I'm happy to have this book and have referred to it extensively, check it out you won't regret it.
I decided to buy this book because my husband wanted it. He has read nad reread this book so many times already. He has said it is very accurate with its information on building bows. He is now in the process of building his first bow from scratch and is quite proud of his work. If he has a problem, he just opens the book back up and finds out what to do next. It is wonderful and very complete.
