I love these movies first of all because of the era they were made. Secondly, they have an adorable Wire Fox Terrier in the movie who is beautiful. I also love these dogs. I have one of my own. The era of these movies add excitment to my life. When life was good and things were simple.

Wherever Nick and Nora Charles travel, murder and intrigue aren't far behind, and that is what happens in The Thin Man Goes Home (1945). William Powell and Myrna Loy are again delightful as Mr. and Mrs. Charles, and their terrier Asta provides a few laughs too.
In this sequel, Nick and Nora go home to stay with Nick's parents for a vacation. Nick's father, a doctor (Harry Davenport), has never been particularly impressed by his son's detective work, and Nora is determined to find Nick a case to solve in his home town so he'll have the opportunity to receive his father's praise. She doesn't have to hunt for a mystery for long, as a murder falls right into the Charles' lap.
Nick, Nora, and Asta (baby Nicky stays on the sidelines for this film) carry out some remarkable sleuthing, dealing with everyone from Nick's childhood chums to local eccentric Crazy Mary, and another crook Nick once sent up the river lends a hand. It's a difficult case with lots of twists, and you'll be kept guessing until the exciting ending.
The Thin Man Goes Home is a very enjoyable detective film with two terrific stars, and you can have fun watching it whether or not you've ever seen another Thin Man movie. This film is also available on DVD in the Thin Man Collection, if you don't prefer VHS.
