The Sound of Music (1996, VHS)

The "Sound of Music" was bought as Salzburg is a favorite place. I was drawn to the film largely due to its richness in scenery.

The film was a fairly accurate portrayal of Salzburg in the 1930's.

It captured the essence, the spirit of Salzburg. The locations where the film was shot brought back incredible memories for me. The music was light and uplifting, the actors were both charming and credible.

Actually, there was nothing that I did not like about the film.

Would certainly buy another of the film and highly recommend this to others.

this is my favorite movie in the whole world. and i would buy from them again.and they was helpful when i had any questions.

The box was smashed and cracked, but unsure of the condition prior to shipment. I didn't see the flaws, but it is all good, the movie works and for a child it does just fine. Thanks!

It's an old movie...for some reason I never thought I'd like it and had not seen it before. One of my sons participates in amateur play productions and they recently did The Sound of Music. He played the part of the captain and sang the songs beautifully. I loved all the music and just HAD to see the movie. I loved it!

Truely a family classic; I love this all over again! I bought this to watch with my 4 year old, so that she could enjoy the children singing, but was a bit nervous about the war (I have never let her watch the news). It turned out to be a great way to introduce the concept to her (though I am of course sorry that we have to) and to teach her a bit about history and geography...and she loves the singing!

My 84 year old beloved friend, Eleanor, had said how she would love to see this film again. i of course got on to Half.com, to find and buy for her a copy of her own. i found it straight away, bought it, received it quickly, and was able to get it to her within days. she was thrilled to get it! :) she watched it many times, for the comfort and joy, as she has lived alone in her little house for over 30 years; her husband having died nearly 50 years on.

sadly, within less than 2 months, her already poor vision began to fail rapidly, and we fear she might have to leave the little home her husband built room by room with love. i am trying what i can do to keep her in her home as long as possible, as she is best friend, soul-mate (so she says), sister,mother, and daughter to me, as i am all those to her. i am a 52 yr old woman, and i adopted her in my heart into my own solitary, (no family) unwell (MS) life. i have tried to do the little things that bring her joy and keep her safe for nearly 21 years now. she is *my* Joy. :)

we don't know what we would do without each other; the love, the prayers, the companionship - even though this is mostly by phone have kept us alive. we hope to live again together in the New System (JW), when we can see well, be healthy again, able to roam hills with flowers in the sunshine. and i am avery good -singer-.

One of the best movies I have ever seen. A movie for the entire family, from the very young to older adults. I bought this for Grand and Great Grandchildren to watch. My 3yr old Granddaughter loves the children and singing. My teenage Grandson loved the story plot. The landscapes were beautiful.

What's not to love about this movie! It's a wonderful story with unforgetable songs and people! I bought this for my daughter and she loves it, too! I could watch it over and over again! You will not be disappointed.
It's on a single vhs tape, which is nice, because when I was a kid, it was available in a 2 vhs tape form, and that was kind of a pain to have to switch videos mid movie. So, now it's great! You just pop it in and enjoy!

My daughter was looking all over for the VHS version of Sound of Music to play for her two toddler daughters. It was almost impossible to find. She wanted a new tape too. I went on e-bay, found it -- bid successfully. Well my two granddaughters play it almost everyday and now know all the songs. My daughter was very happy with the condition (new) and everyone lived happily ever after thanks to e-bay !
